We went to see Godsmack there on May 4th. It was such a beautiful place. Very intimate. It reminded me of a place out of the later 1800's with the balconies wrapped around the entire place. If I'm correct there we 4 floors of them up. And in the center of all this was a big beautiful sphere that came down and rose up. The only thing that I would say I didn't care for was the seating on the ground level. The seats felt smaller and when you stood up to clap and holler like you usually do at a concert you were so close to the person next to you that you would always bump them. You had to kind of stand sideways for room. They could have done better with that. If you don't like close spaces I recommend a seat on an upper level balcony. To be honest I think their seats were better. I had great seats. but in the balcony there weren't as many people to a row and it looked to have more room. They could also have the air conditioner on. It was so hot in there. With so many people in there moving and hollering that should of been a no brainer. I did hear alot of people saying how hot it was in there. So that's why I'm putting this in here. But regardless if your headbanging, watching the opera or a play it would be comfortable to have a steady flow of cool air. Everyone knows to bring a sweater with them in case it's too cool but you can't take layers off without it being inappropriate ๐ I'm giving it 3 stars because of the 2 things I stayed above.however, it was easy to find your seats quick to get a drink(expensive)2 tequila drinks in a can 12oz. $32.00 ๐ณ parking was easy so that was a plus . We paid for parking in advance. Which I recommend if not you will be stuck in a line paying for it after. When all you want to do is get in your car and go home. I would go to another show there and definitely get balcony seats. I'd be better prepared and most likely have a better time knowing ahead of time what to expect. I would definitely say go see a show there. I'm not trying to discourage anybody. This is just a view of my thoughts and a couple helpful hints....
ย ย ย Read moreMy family had a one of the worst experiences this weekend at NJPAC. NJPAC hosted a children's classical music event on Sunday thay my 4 year old and 4 month old enjoyed very much. That was until we were harassed for over an hour by an usher on a power trip that was wearing a black baseball hat with rhinestones.
With the climate over 90 degrees with no shade I needed to feed my 4 month old her bottle of breastmilk and needed a cool shaded place to feed her so she wouldn't over heat. I sat outside the concession stand we had purchased over $30 in snacks moments before. As soon as I set up to feed my 4 month old daughter the usher swarmed me and told me I needed to leave as this area was only for paying customers at intermission. I explained I was here for an NJPAC event and that I did make a purchase so I was in fact a paying customer. She did not care and proceeded to come by every 5 minutes to tell me to leave and becoming increasingly rude to me and my daughter. I told her I would leave when my daughter finished her bottle but she didn't care. She proceeded to try and get security and even the Newark police to have me and my 4 month old removed before intermission. When my wife and 5 year old came over she began to also harrass my wife and son. She even went as far as to complain to other patrons about me and my family in front of us. It was demeaning to be shamed in public by an employee.
NJPAC you need to do better! If you dont want to have families and babies in your lobby dont host children focused events. Your employees preffered my daughter have a heat stroke so people on intermission of How To Train your Dragon ( a children's movie) wouldn't be bothered.
We stayed during intermission and the concession stand was barely visited and the entire seating area was only used by my self and my family of four. Plenty of seating for everyone on intermission.
Shame on you NJPAC! ...
ย ย ย Read moreI needed accessible seats for my birthday, to attend the fabulous Josh Johnson "Flowers Tour" event, so I called the box office and left a message. Darren called me back in a few hours. He was super friendly and knew his stuff. He helped me find a seat and told me there'd be help from the Military Parking lot on the day of the event. I was thrilled! On the day of the event, I called Darren, and he called me right back. He said to call him when I got there. Due to a bad signal I was unable to reach Darren from the parking lot. It was okay though, because the Parking space was not far from the elevator and the street. Upon entering the NJ PAC we were greeted by an ushers who took our tickets and showed us our seats and gave us a small bottle of water, so thoughtful. They notified me to let them know if I needed anything and left. Within a few minutes a friendly young man named Lavelle S. showed up and advised me that he was the ADA attendant. He said that he was there to assist guests with Accessibility needs including bathroom runs. When the show was ending Lavelle S.showed up on time with wheelchair in tow. I felt so special and important! He escorted us through the event attendees traffic effortlessly and delivered me to my car without losing his swagger. I offered a tip but he would not accept it. He refused my monetary gift with grace, but I kept trying!! I then advised Lavelle S, that i would write a glowing review. Well, Lavelle, I kept my promise! You all deserve your flowers ๐. Thank you all for the great attention and care. I will visit NJ PAC more often and tell...
