My husband and I are leading a tour of the Shenandoah Valley campaigns of the Civil War. We love Subway Restaurants and always search for one near our tour base to supply one of our lunches. This trip our base was Harrisonburg, VA. I count myself extremely fortunate to have connected with Ashley Bowman, Subway's Harrisonburg Area Manager. She was very willing to assist me in planning and arranging a fantastic lunch for our guests. She went out of her way to see that our order was not only fresh and made to our guests' wishes, but she personally delivered the order to us at one of our touring stops in New Market. Our guests raved that the sandwiches were exactly what they ordered and a perfect fit for the void rumbling in their stomachs. Many went out of their way to thank us for the delicious treat and the quick efficiency of the personally marked box-lunches. I, in turn, pass this compliment on to the Subway Restaurant staff on Carlton Street for the wonderful food and Ashley Bowman for the easy, efficient handling of our order. Thank you so much for everything you did. We look forward to working with you again when we return to the Valley.

Read moreWent into this location today with my husband. When I worked for Subway a few years back, we were told to ask the customer, "How may I help you today or what would you like today". Not "Next" like you are being herded into a cattle gate. Then I was not asked if I wanted it toasted I was screamed "toasted". Like I was standing across the street. Yes Rachel, I was referring to you. Then I moved down the line to this very nice gentleman who was very nice and polite. He did ask what would we like on our sub. Then the icing on the cake came next. Another employee rang us up. When I ask for a drink with our meal, he rings it up but fails to give me my cup. When I asked him for it he turns his back and walks away. I will tell you that customer service has definitely declined since I was in the field. You don't treat a customer this way since the customer is the one who helps pay your wage. Maybe you need to go to work for one of the credit card customer service departments in India. Since I never take their...
Read moreThe only thing that's strange is that all the employees are not taught to make the subs, the same way! There's one lady there that loads the sub down so much that you would think you were up north at a good hoagie shop, she gives you your money's worth plus more and is very friendly about it! It always makes you want to come back whenever she's working. I know a lot of these places you're not supposed to leave a tip, and I'm living on full disability so I can only afford to eat here a couple of times a month unless I get those coupons in the mail and there's a couple of the coupons that are actually a good value and is a great saving for me. Anyway after that lady did all she could for me as friendly as she was I had to give...
