Burrito Loko — Restaurant in Hartford

This is my first and hopefully only negative review. I think that some days an order can get messed up but I have never wanted to post a bad review. I went today and I ordered two shrimp tacos. Normally the food is great but today it was GROSS. The chef was hanging out and talking with the young women and not cooking. The woman who was handling the food orders was very nice. It was 20 minutes before the cook started my food orders. I took a bite of the taco and bit into a shrimp tail. I looked at the food and pulled out THREE more shrimp tails for a total of four shrimp tails in the tacos. I went back and spoke with the cashier and she spoke to the cook and his response was that he didn’t know that he was supposed to remove the shrimp tail and he said that that was the way they were packaged!!! He said that it wasn’t as if I received any less shrimp. She asked me what I wanted to do and I said nothing and then he asked what do we want then? He was angry and belligerent about it. I told her that it was gross. I won’t recommend eating there if they don’t know the basics of food preparation. No apology but she did ask if I wanted another one. He also dipped the tortillas in some orange sauce on the side of the griddle....

Ordered from Parkville with a friend. We got it delivered to Hog River Brewing. Unfortunately, the burritos here were lacking. They did call to let us know they were out of the tomatillo salsa, so I gave them an extra star at least for alerting us on that. However, neither of us got cheese, which we ordered, and they weren't very generous with other toppings (avocado, corn, veggies). It was mostly just meat and rice.

Update: They reached out and gave us a gift card to try it out again. Great customer service and much better the 2nd time. I definitely recommend the Tex Mex chopped...

After looking around at the vendors at Parkville for dinner, I decided that I was craving a rice bowl from the menu at Burrito Loko. Sadly, it was incredibly average and the quality did not match the price that I paid. The only flavor came from the guac and pico de gallo. Also, I paid extra for guac, and it was literally the tiniest spoonful on top (surface level, it doesn’t touch the bottom of the container). The steak didn’t taste like it was seasoned at all. I don’t see myself returning to this vendor...
