Doner kebabs (and by extension, gyros) are a subjective food since they pull from many different countries. This is my first Berliner kebab with their unique bread. It was good but I'd still put a Turkish style one above it if only for their chili sauce, when you pair white/red sauce with the meat then you're getting the same kind of magical combination that buffalo sauce with ranch provides, a bit of spicy that's getting cooled off in contrast. Their spicy sauce here just doesn't give the same thing. I drove an hour to get here and had high expectations which quickly went away when we entered and were greeted with sewer gas smells. It's like we opened the door and walked into a giant fart. The girls greeting us were very attentive at the front counter while the owner was seated in a booth and welcomed us. The good - veg was reasonably fresh, garlic sauce was good as was the bread. The ok - this doner meat was good but it didn't have any exotic spices to it. More like the meat you'd find on a philly instead of flavorful ribbons shaved off the doner. Next, the red cabbage, it isn't pickled or brined like most doner shops so a major step is being skipped. The bad - fries, pretty sure they served us fries that were old and sitting around. We didn't even eat a quarter of them, some of the worst fries I've ever been served. I was super excited for this place with the rave reviews and the small but focused menu.

The food is exceptional, but as of the time of this review, be prepared to wait for it during traditional lunch and dinner hours. It took about 40 minutes to get 2x Flatbread Doner and 1x Doner Wrap. Was it worth it? Yes. The ingredients are fresh, taste fantastic, and everything is packed with flavor. The owners are both very friendly, funny, and clearly have a passion for what they do. So while there is some constructive criticism to follow, the above factors are why I believe this establishment deserves five stars. My hope is that they can strike a balance of being able to get volume out the door, without sacrificing this current high level of quality. They have several sit down booths, and a drive-thru, but it is mostly a quasi-fast food setup. A minimal menu was a smart choice for that. Right now, many new customers want to try it, and they're coming from all around Southeastern Wisconsin to do so. They've got the quality already, and creating a somewhat expedient experience is what will keep them coming back. I worry for the less understanding crowd that may be expecting a traditional American fast food experience. Catering for the local businesses in the Dodge Industrial Park may be a huge boon for their success as well.

TL;DR If you've experienced döner overseas this will taste like your memories. I have been meaning to try this place for several months now, but didn't get a chance because I spent a good portion of the summer in Europe. So finally I'm back and made a priority to stop by. This review is coming two weeks after eating döners in Germany. These taste like the döner kebaps that are available around Europe. The bread and meat seasoning is a familiar match. I have been looking for years around the Milwaukee area, even as far as Chicago, and never found a proper German style döner shop. This is it. The size is a little smaller and the price about double of what I was just eating in Germany, but the taste is spot-on. I just wish they had a chicken option as well so my wife who doesn't eat beef could try one. Overall, this is a lot cheaper than a flight to Europe, so I'll definitely be back for more.

It is rare that I start eating at a place and immediately say I will be back, but this place is that place. Quaint clean place well furnished, owners who work there as well are very friendly and welcoming and you know you are appreciated as a customer. The food, speaks for itself, from the first bit to the last it does not disappoint. Flavors are authentic, each bite is perfectly portioned with the perfect mix of meat, veggies and sauce and seasoned by the heavens above. The bread of the pockets is unexplainably amazing, great flavor, a little chew and crunch from being grilled perfect and yet still so soft and holds up to the load of deliciousness that is packed full inside. And yes I did go back and brought my wife, and she agreed with my assessment. It is worth the 30 plus minute drive from our house to go there! I will be back and often, and even though I JUST had one yesterday, now I am hungry and...
