I have tried this place a few times, like 7. Food is good, cuts of sushi are small for price. But more importantly..... Every time I am there I question if the place is a daycare or a restaurant. The resident child was riding his bike around restaurant in between his crying. I have been there on Tuesday and weekends. Super thumbs down atmosphere, and this was a statement from my 7 year old! Last few times the wait was long, and there was clearly more workers in the place than employees. As a matter of fact, it seemed that there was more attention on their own personal meal time than on us. Also the last time I was there, the waitress came to the table to give me the final bill and had to say "excuse me" because she had a mouthful of food, and even told me! really?! Never again.... Can't wait for the owner to comment on this and not own up to the fact that they are clearly not running a restaurant versus just taking the orders.
Thanks for the response! Exactly how I thought you would. Good luck staying in business. A professional restaurant owner would never respond as such. Great way to treat the locals who give the reviews. Tell me you are...
Read moreWent here because we moved to Hartford and wanted to try something close to home. It is what you would expect from small town sushi. Our appetizer was the tempura vegetable. We found the tempura lacking a crisp crunch and only one of some vegetables. We were hoping for at least two of eat so we could share. Not worth the $7 tag. The basic rolls were pretty good and fairly priced at around $5-6 but as the price goes up, so does the presentation but unfortunately not the taste. We got the Godzilla roll which was pretty good but we felt a little bland besides the sauce and then a special roll which was $4 more but didn’t taste any different. With the specialty rolls at $14+ dollars it just isn’t worth it. We will probably back to try some other options but I think we will only get the basic rolls in the future.
Our waitress was very nice and we had no wait when we came in at 5pm on...
Read moreWe decided to have Ichiban for the first time for My birthday dinner you got the shrimp tempura roll the New York roll the futo Maki roll, calamari, and chicken fried rice. The shrimp tempura and new York rolls were awesome salmon was really good on the new York roll (5/5). The Futo Maki was good nothing that blew us away (4/5). The chicken fried rice was good but probably could be better with a little more chicken and veggies (4/5). The Calamari was great as well and came a nice sauce with a little kick (5/5).
Also they sent home a piece of deep fried ice cream which was pretty good! I'm not much into sweets but i'd give it a 4/5.
Overall great place and we'll definitely be...
