Ever Green Chinese Buffet — Restaurant in Hartford

We ordered our food on the online ordering app. This is a disaster, you get no notification of when the food will be ready. So I called after a while and they told me it was ready. Then they have entrance into the actual restaurant plexiglassed off and the main entrance has the door open to the outside with a note to leave the door open. This is on a day when the temperature is 5 degrees. There was 3 or 4 people waiting and we all had to wait a minimum of 10 minutes.as far as the food let me start out by saying I am not picky at all when it comes to take out/fast food. We ordered some sweet and sour chicken and sesame chicken. The sweet and sour was fine and what you would expect from a Chinese place. The sesame chicken on the other hand, we took a bite and both thought it was not good and rubbery.the chicken appeared to be pink. I called and they told me it was fine and they use rib meat. So we decided to return for a refund. Once again upon returning I had to wait 5 minutes to talk to someone about the return. They then get someone to inspect my food and tell me it's fine. I just ask them to return the money please. They agree and I wait another 10-15 in the fridged temperatures for my refund. Horrible experience from...

I ordered takeout and it was great! I've never ordered takeout, only been here for the buffet 1-2 times, the last being about 10 years ago after meh experiences. Ordering online was very easy and convenient. When I arrived for my food, it was obviously made fresh and smelled really good. We ordered the Shrimp Mei Fun, Sweet and Sour Shrimp and Chicken with Broccoli. The shrimp in the Sweet and Sour shrimp were HUGE! I will definitely be ordering again, and was very pleasantly surprised.

Constructive feedback: The inside of the restaurant is very dated, and not in the best condition. It may help bring in more customers if there was more upkeep and attention to the buffet area. I have a friend who orders from here, and has always had a good experience, so I decided to stop there for our Christmas Eve dinner. I waited upfront for a very longtime before anyone came to take my order, even after ringing the bell. Once my oder was taken, I waiting a ridiculously long time for my order. The young man who took my order came out and apologized to the man next to me about how long his order was taking and told him that his order would be out soon. This man came in AFTER i did, but there was no mention to me about my order. When my order was finally completed, the young man just set it on the front desk area and said nothing.
