This was the worst take out experience that I have ever had and reviewed. The very sweet but extremely confused young lady behind the counter was not prepared to handle her shift or hot food. I purchased a simple ready made grain bowl that states hot grains with two topping 7.50. She kept ringing it up at 9.00. I tell it is 7.50 but she says the register keeps ringing it up that way. I literally take the small sign and give it to her and she finally rings the amount but says she won't charge the toppings only for me, despite what the amount is showing her on the sign. She proceeds to add the grains and toppings and hands me the bowl cold. I said isn't it suppose to be heated up and she looks at me and tells me that her coworkers didn't show how to do that. I am assuming there is a microwave on site for heating up the grains but she doesn't attempt to try because she doesn't know how to heat up a bowl of grains. Very, very sweet young girl but the establishment should be ashamed for putting a person who was not trained in all procedures to cover a weekend shift. Aside from the fact that I am suprised she couldn't use a microwave, I am alarmed she is around food that needs to be hot without proper food handling training, even for her own safety. Whoever is managing this establishment did a terrible job training this young lady both for the customers satisfaction but also for herself. My recommendation is do not go into this establishment, if you are visiting...

First off, I love Rush Bowls. I’ve been to all 3 locations in CT, the Hartford one however is my least favorite. I always order the same thing, a power bowl without banana as I have a sensitivity to them. Topped with blueberries & either almond or peanut butter. I grabbed a bottle of water today, after seeing the price of a 23oz bottle of Poland Spring at $3.25, I had asked for it to be taken off. Apparently since the cashier had already hit “pay now” so she couldn’t take it off the bill. She had offered me a “buck off” card for the inconvenience. I worked in the food service industry for 10 years, come on.. ask for a manager. What do you do if you hit the pay now button and the customer decides to leave? Are orders shut down for the day? The price of the bowls themselves have increased through the years as well — if I’m paying $1.50 to add almond butter, at least make it consistent & put a decent amount instead of the sad amount of...

I had one of their Acai bowls called the "Beach Bowl". It was heaven in a bowl, very delicious. I had my very first Acai bowl when I was in Brazil and I simply fell in love with Acai. Having one in CT brought back good memories...I'm a picky customer and I don't usually like sugary food and drink items. I mentioned that before I ordered my bowl and one of Rush Bowls employees suggested that I should cut back on the Guava juice and add milk instead, and I m so glad I did that cause it turned out to be superb. So don't be worried if you can't have a lot of naturally occurring sugars cause Rush Bowls let you customize it any way you like. I have to add that the store is very clean and has a cute decor. Employees are young, nice and helpful. I wanna go try every single bowl there, there is nothing like this store in CT. I highly recommend it...

The Tropical Bliss smoothie tasted like oat milk with a hint of fruit—I was delivered nothing special for $18. It could DEFINITELY be more flavorful. I ordered an ORANGE Tropical Bliss smoothie, expecting it to look just like the menu photo, but what I received looked like a strawberry smoothie. It was an unappetizing shade of pink. I had to double-check that I got the right order before I tasted it. I thought the Hartford location would do a good job given all the positive reviews I’ve seen, but this experience was very disappointing, and it will be a while before I try Rush Bowls again. I should’ve trusted my instincts and gone with Playa Bowls instead.

My favorite place in Hartford hands down. The signature " Beach Bowl" is my favorite, and a great item to start with if you've never had an acai bowl (and modifications are easy!) The portions are substantial for the price. The Rush Bowl Hartford owners are the best around town and their passion clearly shows in the bowls and smoothies. What truly makes this an experience worth repeating is the incredible team that works with them. It’s not often someone asks about your day while you're ordering. There is ample seating inside & outside where you can relax and enjoy your bowl. I will be back soon.
