Koffmeyer's Old Fashioned — Restaurant in Haverford Township

This place hires teenagers surfs and is a gold mine for its owners, selling sugary and fatty ice cream at high prices. The owners can easily afford to expand to accommodate long lines of rude Havertonians and foreign transplants who get ahead of others waiting in line in order to get their sugar fix. The ice cream is definitely overpriced and gives me the runs to the toilet. The owner does not provide a place to wash up the stickiness, or napkins. A rude transplant cut through the line in front of me and I complained. I asked the owner’s contact number. The teen behind the counter said she did not know her owner’s number ( how’s that possibly true) and asked for my number in return. New owners took over few months ago but not much has changed which is good (besides new paint, menu TVs and large freezer in the middle of the sitting area, which is now shrunk even more). Ice cream is still coming from the Poconos and in-store baked cookies taste the same. They finally have a proper POS system! We've been coming here for 12+ years and have one suggestion: make a sign directing people where to order ice cream. Newer visitors have no idea how the ordering line flows and just stand there blocking everyone. Great, old time ice cream place. This would be the perfect spot to visit after a baseball game!

I took my kids for an ice cream on a lazy Sunday afternoon this summer. The place was packed! However, the line moved fast.

My younger son ordered the mint chocolate chip ice cream and my older son tried the moose tracks. (I took a taste of both)

The mint chocolate chip was so delicious, it reminded me of ice cream I got from a little candy shop up in Northern Wisconsin when I was a kid. My older son said that their moose tracks was the best he's ever had.

We will definitely go back!

Only wish they had some gluten free...
