Today was my first time ordering from Gourmet House Asian Cuisine. Crab Rangoons arrived hot and tasty, but not enough filling inside. Especially for the price. I ordered pork fried rice and half of the rice was brown, the other half was white?! They mixed old rice with fresher rice 🤮 Certainly this can't be aligned with good food safety practices. The rice was dry in some spots and really moist in others, and it didn't even have pork in it?! The veggies in the rice were dried out/overcooked and gross. I also got boneless spare ribs and they were dry/overcooked and tasted like they were sat out all day. I got physically sick after eating this food. The General tso's chicken was just okay, with the broccoli being dried out and flavorless. I paid over $25 for cruddy Chinese food. Overall, I'll never order here again. Especially because they stick a new pamphlet in my apartment door every single month, stating that they're having a "grand opening". It's quite annoying, considering this business isn't even new. Upon further research, I've discovered Gourmet House Asian Cuisine just reopened under a new name after being closed for some time. I wonder why 🧐 I'd rather go over to Wang's Table.
Edit: A representative of the restaurant responded to my review without even apologizing for giving me old, stale food and didn't acknowledge their mistakes. There is no excuse for cutting corners when it comes to things like food safety. I could tell that newer rice had been mixed with older rice since some of it was a lighter white while other pieces were a slight brown. Also, some pieces were harder and a different texture. The harder pieces were literally in brown clumps and mixed in with the lighter rice and tasted off. I ate some of it without realizing what atrocity I was biting into underneath. The veggies in the rice were dry as if they'd been reheated several times over. Learn to start off responses by apologizing to your customer when you've done something wrong. This was a terrible customer service experience and although the food poisoning already put me off from coming back, this response certainly...
Read moreGrossest 🤮 Chinese food in Haverhill. I just ordered over $50. Yes fifty U.S dollars on this so-called food. No flavor. Undercooked. Highly saturated in oil. That’s everything they offer. Just oil. Very nauseating. I thought this place would be better than Sky Dragon- but it’s WORSE. A PuPu platter shouldn’t arrive looking like someone spilled a cup of oil in the box. The crab rangoons should actually finish frying before serving. The fried rice should be fresh not sitting around for days- then combine new and old rice together. This cannot be sanitary. Very very nasty. Shame on the city of Haverhill for letting businesses like this reopen under a new name. Just to go on another 20 something years serving mediocre and sickening food. Make up your own minds- tell me I’m lying. Go check...
Read moreGreat food and good prices! 👍 Quick and easy for takeout or delivery. They have many different Asian cuisine options, including some Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes. I got a menu in the mail and wanted to check them out since I live nearby. I was feeling adventurous and ordered some things that I don't normally order. I tried the Chow Foon noodles, which are like large, wide, flat noodles. They were tasty! I also got the Thai Spicy Fried Rice which was super flavorful. My husband ordered their Basil Tofu dish and was really happy with it. Good sauce and generous portions. We will definitely be ordering from here again, they have lots of other menu items that I look forward to eatting. Very happy with this place and glad it's in my...
