Keon's — Restaurant in Haverhill

My husband & I went to Keon's (Haverhill) Wednesday night (1/7) for 2 reasons, we had a gift certificate and to celebrate our 37 year anniversary. Made reservations for the bar. Was greeted by the bartender, Leslie. She seemed very nice. We ordered a cocktail, shaker of Cosmo's and looked at the menu. She told us about the dinner for 2 special. Great! Halfway through making our drinks she stopped, walked away and showed another couple pictures of her dog. When we did get our drinks, they were not very good at all. I make better Cosmo's. She then proceeded to pay less and less attention to us and the other guests at the bar. She was busy with a couple she must have known because they were looking at pictures on each others phone. If they were more dog pictures I don't know. The other guests also did not receive a lot of her attention. We received our meal, I got the scallops and my husband got the filet. Both were EXCELLENT. We do not have an issue with the food, just the service we received or lack of. Even the other servers needed to call her name a few times to get her attention to get their customers their drinks. I could tell they were frustrated. We were going to stay for dessert and coffee but at that point couldn't get out of there fast enough. NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY ESTABLISHMENT! So sad the food was great however not sure if this restaurant is family friendly at all. Saturday afternoon my family and I (3 year old, fiancé, mother in law) went to have dinner here. First we all know sometimes toddlers make it their way, so I gave my son the tablet to watch cartoons, an older couple came in and sat behind us and we're very upset because of my son watching the tablet apparently it was so loud the couple couldn't converse with each other, the lady was so upset she said if she couldn't move they would leave so of course they catered to her which is great customer service, but for the two waitresses to stare giggle and laugh at my child not right! Then my son got upset and cried and another customer says "shove a sock down his throat" and the other waitresses laugh about it and continue to give us looks. When I explained my frustration to the waitress instead of apologizing she laughs at the issue and walks away. So all in and lol I will not be going back to this establishment nor will my friends. So glad we tried Keon's! A really cozy little bistro with a nice vibe, great staff and amazing food. Everything we ordered was fantastic, drinks were fun and delicious, food was on point and pretty quick to come out, too.

The menu is small, which is my personal preference, but still has options for pretty much everyone. I can speak for the Steakbomb eggrolls, seafood ravioli, short ribs and filet mignon, they were all absolutely fantastic! I could eat the Yukon mashed potatoes and fried onions by themselves by the plateful and be totally happy with it. Everything was cooked perfectly and left nothing to be desired.

Easy 5 stars! We will definitely be going back again and again. Prices were fair, service was great, parking was easy at the public lot across the street. My family loved it. I'm genuinely glad to have a place like this in our own downtown, it's a restaurant I'd travel for but luckily don't have to!
