Im finally starting to enjoy the fizzy bevs here but i dont know whether it's because i stopped trying to drink as fast as Sully, because im getting older so i need to start liking adult tastes or because they simply got better at brewing as more communal resources became available. Total crapshoot, not sure. Still sour about poutine being removed from menu, albeit i haven't eaten there in a bit and you guys may have gotten the hint after seeing the float i submitted to the Santa's day parade this year despite Sully's spelling error. He was also told that there would be blacklights around the parade route so he wrote it in a super off-putting sheen of yellow even though we told him four times that even if there were b-lights, it was daytime and it wouldn't glow. I like that you guys have cans now because now its easy to take the taste of the Tap with me after I've been asked to leave, which is nice. The names for the sodas are better now too but only because i thought Leatherlips was a mean nickname waiting to happen. Stop asking if they have bud lattes because they don't and the substitute suggestion doesn't taste like a latte at all so youre already gunna be 0-1 on the night. I wanted to get a job tending here but they said my arms were too skinny to be working behind the bar; he's def goofing with me and I probably really didnt get the job because i tried to draw too many job qualifications lines between being my current job as smoothie technician at petco and mixology. Read moreWe really enjoyed our food, as you can clearly see from the “before and after” pics. I got the fried Brussels sprouts plus a side of the beer cheese because based on the menu, it seemed like a must. Pro tip: drizzle a bit of the Thai chili sauce into the beer cheese for the best dipping flavor experience. Hubby ordered the wangs and while he ate every last bit of it he did mention they were kinda dry. The boy ordered a double burger (hold the bun) with the ghost pepper cheese because ghost pepper cheese on a burger sounds AMAZING and he was thrilled to every last bite as fast as humanly possible. Our server was very friendly and made sure to keep a pitcher of water at our table. Solid move! Our food came out fast and hot and the bill was totally reasonable (I’m a NYC transplant). Only bit of criticism would be the noise level in the dining room, which I appreciated was separate from the bar, but the music was still too loud to have a conversation without hollering over it AND the other patrons trying to do the same. Overall a great experience and will be coming back for drinks and bites at the bar but probably not first choice...
Read moreSurprisingly good lunch experience!
We stopped by on Black Friday, as we were looking for a quick lunch and couldn't decide on where to eat, but at the last minute decided to give The Tap a try. We've eaten there for dinner on a few occasions, and always had decent meals, but had never tried their lunch menu.
I got one of their locally made craft beers, which was delicious -- nicely malted and just the right amount of bitterness (wish I could remember the name of it, as I'd get it again.)
I got a Sweet Chili chicken wings, with a bowl of chili. Both were delicious -- chili had big chunks of (I think) beef brisket in it. Wife got a "Lunch Bowl" (I think that's what they called it) of chicken, and it was awesome -- basically a full lunch in a bowl. Layers of chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetable (corn?), stuffing, and gravy. (It was so good that we made a similar dish modeled after it at home that weekend with our Thanksgiving leftovers.)
Wasn't expecting much more than a quick lunch, but was pleasantly surprised by the lunch menu here --...
