THE REVIEW:
EXCELLENT Christmas Experience!
Folks, this is the true definition of a "small town, local, small business, mom-and-pop shop". I visited on an evening just a couple weeks prior to Christmas. The air was chilly, the Christmas lights and music were working hard to fill Havre De Grace with the Christmas spirit and cheer. Many popular businesses still remain closed (early) on a Saturday, but not this place. Their café felt like Santa's Workshop and the venue was small, warm and "hearthy". We ordered a couple delicious black coffees and a hot chocolate and it really made this season feel unique and special. I hope to visit more often.
MY RANT: Folks, ignore the low reviews. If you give this place a low review, you're embarrassing yourself, and shame on you. If your coffee isn't exactly 210 degrees, or it's a bit lighter than your very specific expectations, that's on you. You need to specify and they will accommodate.
If you're expecting a business to accommodate you and your massive roving band of family members, children, carts, carriages, and walking sticks, maybe you're in the wrong place. It doesn't mean the business is "lacking accommodations", you're just lacking...
Read moreMy aunt and I visited this coffee shop early this morning, and we were clearly the first customers of the day. Upon entering, we both greeted the two older women behind the counter. Despite the shop being very small and quiet – there was no way they didn’t hear us. We were completely ignored. No eye contact, no acknowledgment, just a cold and indifferent atmosphere that crossed the border of rudeness.
Throughout our short visit, I was the only one saying yes and thank you. The lack of basic courtesy made us both feel very uncomfortable.
As for the food, our “toasted” bagels were barely warmed and only slightly browned on one corner. The coffee was mediocre best – not worth making a trip for.
We both left as soon as we finish, offering a polite, thank you and goodbye on our way out. Once again, we were met with silence. The only person who acknowledged us was a gentleman seated at another table (possibly one of the owners?), who returned our goodbye. Unfortunately, that small gesture wasn’t enough to save the experience.
Based on the cold service and lackluster food, we won’t...
Read moreStopped here today for a couple lattes. The lady who took our order wasn't very friendly; no welcome or smile. This quaint little coffee shop that sells a variety of coffees, lattes, espresso and more. They have limited seating to sit and enjoy your beverage. I ordered a pumkin spice latte. The latte was a bit weak and watered down for my taste. Prices are somewhat expensive. Two small lattes set me back 11ish dollars. The ambiance is nice though; 50's Era music and warm atmosphere. They also have the shop packed with shelves of "knickknacks " which are available for purchase. If you want a quality tasting latte, though, I'd stick...
