Was having a rough day and needed a bit of a change of scenery for the afternoon/evening. Drove from South Jersey to Maryland. Pulled over on the side of the road, looked up restaurants nearby, and Tidewater immediately peaked my interest. When I arrived I was not disappointed. Beautiful location right on the water. Was greeted and seated without any wait. And for fellow introverts like myself, my brief interactions with the waitress and waitstaff were great. Not a knock to them at all, they were extremely pleasant. Very attentive to anything I needed, just didn’t show up to my table every 5 seconds, which can sometimes be overwhelming. NOW…on to the reason I will most definitely be back….THE FOOD! Started with fried calamari and a winter mule to drink, both were perfect. Ordered blackened salmon with a Caesar salad for my main meal. Once again, the food was mouthwatering. I almost never order salmon out or eat it at all in general, but it had a nice smoky flavor and almost melted in my mouth. Can’t wait until my next trip back, they have Trivia night Wednesdays and really interested in checking out the live music on Friday & Saturday nights. Give them a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Disclaimer, Havre de Grace is a nostalgic place for me and my family, so to me, everything here is a little better than the rest of the world. Tidewater is no exception. I've been there twice now over the years and love it each time. Today the air was a little chilly so we got a table inside the room looking out over the bay. All of the huge windows make it a perfect place to sit for a while. Our server was busy but attentive. The bacon jam scallops were fantastic and I wished there were more. The creamy crab soup was addictive so I was glad I only got a cup instead of a bowl. Normally I would order crab cakes but decide on fish and chips. To be honest, I've had better, but the atmosphere, presentation and company I was dining with made it taste so good. Great cocktails too. Parking was limited on St Patrick's weekend. Valet seems too fancy for this town but it sure would be nice. I'm looking forward to going back.

A beautiful ambience to sit down and eat by the water. Requested a table for 2, the 2 young hostesses could not accommodate us on the inside because they had a party of 9 and a party of 13 coming later. However, 2 tables was available at this time. When I went to the restroom, 2 caucasian guest came in asking for a table, they had no problem accommodating them right away. Also by the time we had left, the 2 tables was still available on the inside. The hostess bypass several available tables on the outside and excorted us to a table at the end, that was so close to the water, if a high tide would have came, we would have been soaked. It would have been nice to have eaten inside of the resturant as it was a bit chilly for me sitting outside. However, my hubby loved the outside. Our waiter was good. Boats can dock at Tidewater Grille to enjoy a good meal. Food was good, a bit pricey. The Bacon Crab Club was $16 and comes with chips $2 up charge to add fries. My hubby ordered the Ham Dinner @ $20, came with 4 slices of ham with grilled pineapple slices, mashed potatoes and a vegetable melody. The temperature of the food could have been hotter. It was tasty but a small crabcake. Can't remember if it was Strawberry or a Raspberry Bread Pudding, however, it was burnt and dry, it needed a glaze or a heated sauce to compliment to add flavor. For pet lovers, outdoors pet friendly restaurant also, which is weird eating and seeing a pet walked to do his or her business. This place is a bit pricey to have pets on the premises releasing themselves while you're eating your meal outdoors in such a small area..

I have to change this review to 1 star, from 3, after my husband and I both had upset stomaches after eating here. The original review is below, but I can't stop thinking about where that tray was and what else it came into contact with. Also, if they were careless about that were they equally careless about other health and safety issues. I added a picture of the tray on the floor. the server added additional items to the tray before it was picked up. I don't believe restaurants wash these bar trays between each use, so the germs from the floor were then transferred to the top of another tray, the top of the bar, the top of a table, and so on. Original review: The food was delicious, the view of the water lovely, the service in need of major improvement. If not for the service, I would give it 5 stars. We waited about 10 minutes, although it seemed longer, for anyone to come to our table to even offer us water. When the server finally came he did take our entire order. He then forgot to bring my husband's soup. He did comp him a cup later, but it's not the same. I also felt that he hadn't been well trained as he put a drink tray on the floor, and then placed several items he was busing from a nearby table on the tray. Also, my husband's first choice for his entree was sold out, this was the kitchen's fault for not informing the servers. There was also an unbused table on the patio the entire time we were there, and the place was just not busy enough to justify that not being cleaned up.

Seafood was a little more salty than I’m used to, but besides that I wish I had another mouth on the side of my neck to help me gobble it up!! Very delicious! Great and enjoyable drinks 🍹 🍸too - very nicely balanced. I loved the ambiance and the view, and the location. Parking was easy too which made it a front to back great experience, and the service (Aka Cristal) was excellent!

The food is great. My favorite is the crab cakes. The setting is beautiful, on the waterfront.
