Clover and Mug (Keauhou Shopping Center) — Restaurant in Hawaii

DAY 4 of Vacation - My mission in Hawaii was to visit as much local Kona coffee shops as I can. Half way through my stay and this is the 3rd coffee shop I've visited.

Parking: Large parking lot. Finding a spot is easy. Free parking.

Ambiance/Environment: This spot is located in Keauhou Shopping Center which is down the street from our hotel. They have a small indoor space with very limited seating. It can feel a bit tight as there are constant customers coming in n out. They also have some outdoor seating.

Service: The cashier that assisted us was nice and efficient. The baristas were quick. Throughput took under 5 min from ordering.

Drinks:

1. Dalgona Latte - This was labeled as their "best" latte. I ordered an iced 12 oz. This drink was definitely strong and thick. I could taste the coffee with every sip. If you need something to stay awake the whole day, I recommend this drink.

2. Ube Cream - This was labeled as their "best" cold brew. My BIL ordered this as a 12 oz. It's their freshly brewed cold brew topped off with ube foam. I took a sip, and I thought the ube flavor came through, the foam is light & not thick, and the cold brew wasn't too watered down.

3. Strawberry Banana Smoothie - This was labeled as one of their "best" smoothies. Their smoothies and ade are only offered in a 16 oz. My bf ordered this and mentioned that it tasted as expected. He really liked the strawberry pieces.

4. Strawberry Latte - This no longer contains coffee! When we visited, they haven't updated their menu yet. The cashier informed us while ordering and asked if we still wanted this. My MIL still wanted it. She mentioned the only thing she can taste was milk and some...

My FAVORITE coffee spot in Kona! My go-to here is a vanilla iced latte with either ube cream or pistachio cream. It is so tasty and balanced — the purple ube and green pistachio add a nice, fun touch to my drink too! I have also tried the Dalgona (Korean candy) latte and it was good but I prefer my other two drinks.

They use Kona coffee here of course and also offer some delicious food options. I tried the bulgogi panini and it was so Ono! The panini has yummy bulgogi and grilled onions within and is served with a tasty garlic sauce for dipping and chips on the side. I very much enjoyed it with my latte!

This would be a cute spot to meet friends or clients although the interior is quite small (they have patio seating). Service is always...

Can I just say “what a fast & delicious coffee experience”? I originally wanted to go to a different coffee shop (Peaberry & Galette) but the damn place was closed even though Google Maps said it was open… And you know what?! I’m glad they were closed because I wouldn’t have gone to Clover & Mug! They deserve every dollar I gave them.

They have some unique and pretty darn good flavors like Ube Cream and Dalgona Latte. They even have bingsoo (I’ll definitely have to come back for that). They have a ton of parking, seats inside the shop, great music ambience, great views of the ocean, super cute and friendly staff… I mean come on.. if I can give this place 10 stars, I would!
