Where to even start, we order 3 Cheese Burgers, all 3 with different toppings and 2 large fries. What could possibly go wrong, right ! Wrong, food arrives, every burger is wrong, only one small fry, when I say the burgers wrong, wasn’t even close, wrong toppings, some toppings weren’t even there. So I call, ask to speak to the manager, he states his is the manager. I start to explain what was wrong, and he immediately blames Door Dash. So I asked, did the Door Dash driver get back there and make our burgers ? He says “No”, so I asked how can he blame Door Dash guy for making the burgers wrong ? This is Not a delivery issue, it is a Product issue. The Manager almost immediately lost all respect, I immediately without even taking a breath started blaming the Delivery and then said nothing he could do since he could not confirm what was wrong, because apparently after working 16hrs today and spending $80 on the wrong order, apparently I have nothing better to do but call and tell him my burger was wrong just to get another burger. In my position as an Operation Manager, if one of my staff does not have the respect or integrity to say hey, we messed up “Sorry” and immediately start blaming others for their mistakes, I would Terminate them for lack of Character and Integrity. This was the heartache of these people working at a hamburger place wanting $20 an hour and they Can’t even get the frickin burger right. I’m sure if they just spent $80 and didn’t get what they wanted. I bet they would be Pissed. That’s ok, they will never get another dollar out of me, my family or my friends, plenty of Local family restaurants that want our business. Whss as t we need in this Island is...
Read moreExtremely underwhelming to the point that I have to write my first review ever. Years ago, I saw a popular YouTube video of a guy that reviewed a Five Guys burger; it looked great, and he definitely hyped it up. I should've heeded my friends' advice that the Five Guys here is a waste of money; some of them advised against it from personal experience with the store in Mililani, and some based on what their friends have told them. Regardless, it was something I just had to try so I discarded their warning. Well I finally had the opprtunity to give Five Guys a chance. I was ecstatic when I discovered this new location as I'll probably never visit the Mililani store. The service was OK, the food itself was OK... and neither the bacon cheeseburger nor the small fries I ordered were as minuscule as I expected from what I've been told. That said, my gripe with Five Guys is the price, and what you get from it. The burger I received was painfully ordinary - it wasn't overcooked... but it wasn't bursting with flavor either. It reminded me a lot of a Wendy's burger - I like Wendy's, but this is as if I had bought one of their burgers and got charged twice. I paid nearly $17 for one bacon cheeseburger with a "small" order of fries, and for the money, I just expected more. Perhaps this was a one-off - maybe if I give Five Guys another chance, then maybe the next burger will meet my expectations or even exceed them - but I won't, because this was an expensive one-off, with a strong aftertaste of regret in each bite. As far as I'm concerned, Five Guys doesn't hold a candle to Teddy's or Kua Aina, both of which have offered more for a little bit less. At least I can finally cross them...
Read moreMy first Five Guys experience was in Philly many years ago, but I was eager to give my tastebuds a refresher. This was Hawaii's second Five Guys location with the first being in Mililani.
ATMOSPHERE: This spot is conveniently located on the exterior of Oahu's newest mall, Ka Makana Alii, with quick access from the parking lot. The inside has a few seats with a few umbrella-covered tables outdoors.
MENU: Burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, milkshakes.
FOOD: Cheeseburger Pricey but you get its unlimited toppings. I had no idea that this was a double cheeseburger until I opened up the bag. I was wanting a small snack not an entire meal! Oh well. I got mine with mayo, pickles, grilled onions and mushrooms. The burger was good! Big, juicy and really non-fast food-tasting.
Fries Available in Cajun which I got, and Five Guys Style which I have no details on. Wow, my ala carte meal is sure adding up at this point! My "little" size was anything but. It's a huge cup that's good enough for two to share, this coming from a guy who always orders large fries if possible, which I couldn't finish. The seasoning had a nice herby kick to it but wasn't spicy at all.
Pricey for a fast-casual spot, and almost similar in price to a traditional restaurant.
SERVICE: Friendly & fast. Food delivery took about 8 minutes at non-peak time.
TIP: "Little" on their menu means regular. Don't be fooled by thinking they're kid sizes.
OVERALL: Simple menu,...
