Growing up in an Italian household, food was literally at the center of attention. When it came to pizza we’d argue all the time about how to make the best dough, what kind of herbs and spices to put into sauce, and what best combination of toppings to add. At the end of the day we’d still be arguing while enjoying our pizza.
What I love about Hilo Pizza Company is my Ohana agrees they make a great tasting pizza. I first heard of Hilo Pizza from an event I attended.
They were serving a variation of their signature pizzas. A few bites in, I had to ask where they ordered the pizza from. The host smiled and said, “From the best pizza place in town”. Curious, I had to go see for myself.
They’ve got a really cool spot that’s street-style NYC chic with a subtle island flare. Honestly, I stared at the menu for a few minutes trying to decide which pizza to try first.

OMG...The pizza was DELICIOUS!!! The pizza dough is authentic to its Italian origin’s and the quality of the toppings are premium. The crust was cooked to perfection and all the fresh layered flavors echoed within my palate.

Read moreThe first time we visited your restaurant, it was just perfect. We ordered pizza by the slice : pepperoni which covered the pizza generously, and vegetarian pizza with pesto and white sauce. The pepperoni was warmed up and perfect to my husband's taste. My pizza was crispy and just perfect. We also ordered the pizza salad that was full of lettuce and arugula, protein, mushrooms and green peppers. The salad dressing was very good. Such an excellent meal at a reasonable price, I recommended your place on my Foodie Finds Facebook page.
Today was my husband's birthday so as a treat we decided to go to your restaurant since we had such a great visit the week before. There were only 2 paltry slices of pepperoni pizza, 1 slice of chicken pesto , and 5 slices of cheese pizza. I asked if there were fresh pizzas coming out and the answer was negative. (Eat what's there...as if we care). So my husband ordered the cheese pizza warmed and I had the chicken pesto crispy. My husband's pizza came crispy with the cheese burned. He did not care for his slice. Mine was okay and tasted better with the red pepper flakes.
