Haven't ate here for years. Alot has changed such as the menu. The food is good depending on what you order. Their are signs hanging from the ceiling that blocks th newly designed menu board so you can only see positions if the menu until you look from different angles. The inside counter workers were very nice, the dining room has been remodelled and seems to have lost some seating capacity. And some of the seating area had signs posted not to use because there was either a broken table or chair / bench. This is also no longer a fast food restaurant. Now they are trying to cater to customers which I think is a little too much for what should be a fast food restaurant. Before they would give you an order number for your order. Now if you order for take out they ask you for your name and if you eat in they give you a number that you put on your table and someone will bring you your food. The dining room already had other customers enjoying their food. There were only 4 orders ahead of my order but it took 16 minutes until I finally got my food. I only had 3 items in my order that normally takes seconds to make, a Steak Quesadilla and a Cheese Roll Up. The workers preparing the food all though they were nice at acknowledging the customers when they handed out the orders. They can not seem to multi task and only concentrate on making 1 order at a time as compared to back in the days, when there were other simple orders following a complex order they would complete the simple orders in between with speed and accuracy. That was fast food. There just doesn't seem to be any since of urgency anymore. This doesn't seem to be the place to eat if you are on a timed schedule. The drive through seems to be very slow as well. I haven't gone through the drive through since years ago as the line was very long and slow moving as well. I'm pretty sure that there is a timer for the drive through as before they used to have one hanging above the drive through window in which they tried to keep the time under 2 minutes per a vehicle from the time the car pulls up to the speaker and ordere to the time they get their food at the drive up window. But I did not get a good look at the drive through side to notice if the clock still existed. If it did then the times would be very slow. It looks like they were trying to cheat that original system by having an order taker stand outside in the hot sun and pre take orders of vehicles from what I seen at least 4 orders before the customers got to the speaker probably hoping that the customer could drive right through to the window, but even at that it seemed to work and was very slow. I probably could have counted on 1 hand how many vehicles actually completed their journey through drive through as my entire visit to Taco Bell. Well I got to say great job on trying to spiff up customer service, but they need to speed up their times if they want to continue as fast...
Read moreAt the age of 5 months, without a tooth to my name, swaddled in a shapeless onsie, shamelessly sporting drool on my chin and mischeif in my eyes, I conned my grandmother into feeding me an entire bean burrito and the better part of a small Pepsi.
A love affair that has followed me from infancy to middle age and what will likely be a life long vice. This is what Taco Bell means to me.
I've given a couple of other taco bells poor reviews, and frankly it takes some doing to trample on the dreams of a man with my level of nostalgia, but this is not one of those taco bells. I'm not putting it in a pedestal mind you, the taco bell on kilauea is just as consistent with the food and the flavor, and it is a newer building so the atmosphere is perhaps a little fresher there. But this location is super busy, but managers to keep it's drive thru moving regardless. I think there is something to be said for that!
At the end of the day, it is just a taco bell.
I'll leave you with two pieces of advice. Firstly, order thru the app, the online exclusives are way more affordable than the normal menu pricing. Secondly, keep your eyes peeled for local meats! They serve kalua pork from time to time! Kalua pork Nacho Bellgrande can't be...
Read moreWhile there is nothing much wrong with the fast food itself, this particular franchise had some quality control issues through time. Multiple times my family and I have gone drive-thru here and have been shorted an item or had the wrong item put in the bag. In their defense, this restaurant is always super busy.
The good is that the workers are always friendly and willing to give a freebie on our next visit. Its just disappointing to be missing food when you arrive home with your stuff. Now this is a minor inconvenience but it happens often. If you drive in, I'm sure it's not a huge issue.
We hardly dine in as the parking lot usually had blocked stalls from the huge line going drive-thru (like I said they are always super busy).
The drive-thru area has a bit of a tight turn which can be difficult for some larger vehicles but that's normal for Hawaii (limited real estate).
Last gripe from me, they stop putting green onion on nachos and Mexican pizza a while back. I just chop my own at home and add.
All in all the minor inconveniences are not strong enough to stop going and I have jeffy to have a bad interaction with any of the employees in the years I've gone here. ...
