This place is truly unbelievable. We learned about it via a travel TV program, so we thought we would try it during our 25th anniversary trip to the big island. We stayed in Kona, but dropped by while exploring the island. I thought I did not care for Bahn MI sandwiches, but I simply had not had one like this one. The pork was perfectly cooked and incredibly spiced/marinated. Everything on the sandwich, that should have been fresh, was fresh. The homemade bread was AMAZING, and slightly toasted so it was not soft but not hard and difficult to bite and chew. Every other dish was also outstanding. I dreamt about the sandwich and so we drove from Kona all the way to Hilo just to get another sandwich. This is coming from someone who does not live to eat, but who typically eats to live, and very little causes me to care much about it, but this is such an exception, that I had to ‘gush’ about this experience. It is not to be missed and is worth the trip from wherever you stay when visiting the Big Island of Hawaii. Make sure to check ahead to make sure they will be open on that particular day, and what their current operating hours will be at that time, before you go, to avoid abject...

It was only about 2 months ago I decided to stop by and order something. To my surprise it was amazing.
From the outside it doesnt look like much. Just a small food truck on this open piece of land. But what is created inside is amazing.
Most recently my brother and I got the PHO BAH MI. It was SO good. Perfect balance of sweetness, savory and spicy.
Mrs. Le (owner). KNOWS HER STUFF.
PRO TIP: they only accept cash or personal check. No cards (as of yet).
The hours of operations (I think) are 11-3 or sold out. And she has sold out quickly before.
If you’re in the area i highly recommend stopping by...
Read moreI have at least 1 vegetarian banh mi (sometimes add an egg ;) here every month and It’s still my favorite thing to eat. No joke. Le’s food and custom drinks are super flavorful!
She used to be super busy when she was located more in town. Now, if you come at the right time, you might catch the cozy and artistic dinning spot empty. There’s a cool wall painting and a small potted garden of herbs that she uses as flavor magic! If the spot is already taken, you can just walk 25 steps to the beach front benches.
This is one of those gems you don’t want to speak about but you also know deserves the praise. There was plans to expand the parking area into a small food truck venue..if I were you I’d try it out before the place becomes slammed.
She has...
