Think nostalgia, mom and pop old school kind of feel. This is apparently a staple on Maui and I can see why. The food did not blow me away but it was comfort food that reminded me of going to old family-run restaurants back in the day. The dry noodles and manju is what I was told to try and that I did. Both were good. The parking lot was decent but filled up fast. Street parking was easy to find. The bathrooms were not great but sufficient. We were seated outside so there were some flies but it wasn't really dirty. All in all a worth it experience. If you're looking for comfort food, by all means, stop by. If nostalgia and classic Hawaii local food isn't really your thing or doesn't matter to you, you're probably better off going somewhere else. As for me, I'll stop by again for sure next time I'm on Maui.

They are usually very busy so we ordered take out, but were pleasantly surprised to find out there was only a very short wait if we wanted to dine in. The parking lot is small, so it helps to have someone wait in the car and another person run out to pick up the food. Service was quick and friendly! The Dry Noodles are highly recommended so we ordered some other items to try. The Teriyaki Plate Lunch came with a large scoop of rice, scoop of mac salad, and generous portion of teriyaki beef. Although it doesn’t look pretty, the beef was so tender and flavorful! Definitely an underrated dish here. The Lima (Butter Bean) and Azuki (Red Bean) Manju were also nice little treats to have after our meal. Soft and subtly sweet. The best local manju we’ve had!

The bottom was my cha siu hor fun...... my god, can you have any less ingredients than this? Not just that it was dry and didn't taste good at all, the colouring was very artificial as you can tell and I've never seen hor fun so wide and thick and in a stack in my life! My husband's noodle soup wasn't that great either and the skewer was just alright! Worst thing is...... everything was overpriced! I am not sure why there would be great reviews for this place as it is not authentic at all! Maybe their food can fool non-Chinese people but let me tell you, real Chinese food are nothing like this! I wouldn't recommend this place! I seldom leave reviews but I MUST warn other people before they make the same mistake that we did! :(

Yaaaaas - this place is so good! • Be prepared to wait in line for a little to get seated. • They take credit card • Super casual, everyone is an auntie and uncle here. (+) Dry Mien - ohhhh yum. Love the texture of the noodles, they're still juicy. (+) Chicken was juicy, moist, flavorful (+) Yakitori was the same, juicy, moist, flavorful, tender. Weirdly enough when I was there I saw a lot of people getting the cheeseburger, grilled cheese sandwiches. They looked pretty average, but maybe there is something I'm missing there. Will have to try next time!

We entered the parking lot. And got seated immediately upon arriving inside the restaurant. The ambiance was very traditional like-busy, but inviting. The smell of noodle aroma filled the atmosphere, tickling my nose senses having myself more than ready to see what the menu has to offer. The menu had many amazing dishes, the most popular being the fried noodles. I opted for the saimin as of course, I came here for the noodles and wanted some warmth in my body! When in Maui, make sure to stop at Sam Satos!

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: I come here everytime I visit Maui! The extended review... Food: Double Dry Min - 5/5 - SOOOO GOOD. The noodles are thick and chewy...just the way I like them. The little bit of broth helps to add to flavor but definitely don't need all that broth. This won't disappoint. Service: 5/5 - Service with a smile. Super friendly staff. Ambiance: 3/5 - Sort of a hole in the wall place. There isn't indoor seating at the moment but there's some outdoor.
