The manager, Melanie (Leena on badge) has no respect to their customers. We made it very clear before ordering that we are vegetarian and we don’t consume eggs. When we asked if the butter croissant has eggs her immediately reply was THERE IS NO EGG. We asked again just to make sure she heard us right. She said again, there is no egg and she asked if we were okay with butter for which we said yes, butter is okay. We made the purchase, we started eating and in half way, we felt it’s too soft for a non-Egg dish and looked upon Starbucks website where it indeed mentions in the ingredients that Butter Croissant contains EGG. When we confronted her again with proof she got frustrated and wasn’t feeling sorry for it. It seemed even if a person is choking to death out of allergic reaction to Egg, she would offer a refund with a smile on her face and no guilt and she did say, she’s not sorry for it. This kind of behaviour is extremely inappropriate and not acceptable. We would definitely not recommend this Starbucks chain in...
Read moreYesterday, June 13 2014, an elderly Native Hawaiian man, living on a fixed income, was told by this store's assistant manager that he had to buy something every two hours in order to sit there and use the internet. Now, this man is a regular, and he spends what he can. And Starbucks also gives him free refills on his "gold account." So, even though the corporate customer relations people say there is no such policy, and were frankly appalled at the story (and filed a complaint to be directed to the district managers in Hawai'i), the elderly man is now so upset and embarrassed by this treatment that he no longer wants to sit in this place that he is used to frequenting, often seeing people he knows who stop by and say hello to him. In Hawai'i, the kupuna (elders) are supposed to be treated with utmost respect - so this treatment is doubly offensive. If you think this is a terrible example of discrimination and heartlessness, please let this Starbucks on Mamalahoa Hwy (same as Hawai'i Belt Road) know about...
Read moreToday at the Waimea Starbucks, there was an incredibly rude customer. She grabbed the wrong drinks, then came back in to berate the baristas, continuing to do so even after the issue (her own mistake) was sorted out. As they made her drinks for her, she kept angrily insisting they were incorrect (apparently the chai latte did not LOOK like a chai latte, and no amount of confirmation could convince her otherwise). I just wanted to leave this review to comment on how well the baristas on staff today responded. People like that can be hard to respond to in a calm and polite manner, but that's exactly what they did as they remade the drinks a few times. They didn't engage her ire, rather calmly apologizing when reason didn't work, and continued to help other customers. I know y'all have been short staffed lately and having issues, but you're doing fantastic. Keep up the...
