I just had the most painful wait at the Keauhou Subway today. I waited for 30 minutes to get my sandwich. Of course as I walked in two people were complaining as they rushed out with their food. Only 8 people were served sandwiches in the 30 minutes that I stood in line. That's over 3 and a half minutes per sandwich! It shouldn't take more than 60 to 90 seconds per sandwich. The heavy set woman putting the toppings on the sandwiches had walked around aimlessly, talked too much, showed zero urgency in getting the long line of people served in a timely manner ... so much wasted motion and time. It was painful to watch her place, pick up and replace one single slice of cucumber. She could not see how irritated everyone was who was waiting in line. Her co-workers did not look happy with her also. I could see that they wanted to service everyone faster but felt like their hands were tied. I paid for my sandwich before she could finish making the sandwich and told her, "Sorry, sisita, but you gotta move faster! I been in line for a half hour." She replied, "We're trying." When you're not paying attention to how long the lunch rush line is, you're not trying. Maybe she just needs to be retrained? I don't know. But frustrated to say the least is definitely how I felt. This Subway is closest to where I live so I want to keep going there because I love the fact that it's a personalized sandwich but not if I have to wait 30 minutes. Read moreI have always gotten good servce at Subway Keahou until recently. Apparently they have new staff and a new manager. I have never been treated so rudely in all my life. I ordered a salad and went through the line, they were out of pickles, they were out of spinach , out of olives. I asked they how I was going to have a salad if they were out of everything. The manager said that "she remembered me" and that I was always a problem" She said that I should have overheard her tell the previous customers to check the produce since they were out of many things. I suppose I should pay more attention to other peoples conversation? She told her staff, several times that I had always been a problem. I have no idea whether I have ever seen this manager before, and suspect she was confusing me with someone else? She was very rude. I have eaten at this Subway almost everyday and always had a very good relationship with the employees that no longer work there. As I was leaving the store, this manager was announcing to the store, that I was a problem customer. I will never return to this store as long as this manager is employed by them. I suggest you do the same. She said her name was something like "Meana"? or something like that and she was proud that she was the manger... "the boss" . What horrible...
Read moreTonight was the second time I’ve ordered (and paid for) food online, only to get to the store and find a hand written note saying that they’d closed early. Both times this happened the employee was still there - but they ignored me as I tapped on the window and asked about my order. Subway Keauhou owes me close to $40 now.
It’s also been a normal occurrence for them to not even start making my online order until after I’ve already arrived to pick it up. I’ve been told “Oh sorry, I forgot” SEVERAL times - and even then, they’re in absolutely no rush to make the order. One guy was literally playing video games on his phone instead of making my order. I used to manage restaurants myself, so I know there is absolutely no excuse for any of this.
The service here is absolute trash and after I get my money refunded, I won’t come back again. I used to come at least once a week and never have any problems - but whoever is running it lately has ruined it. ..and they obviously don’t care because all the reviews here say the same thing.
