I have heard repeatedly that Angelina's had very good food. I went on Saturday . Picked up two sandwiches and some potato, cucumber and bean salad. The eggplant parm was good although I didn't taste it. My chicken cutlet with broccoli Rabe and provolone was less than inspiring. They charged me 7.99 /per lb for the salad. Less than 2 lbs total over 12.00 dollars. It was flavorless. Like the chicken sandwich. The bill was over 35 dollars. I may give it another try to be fair.
So to be fair. I have tried Angelina's again since my disappointing first experience. I want to report, that Angelina's on the second go around gets very good marks. 👍 I will say the sandwiches were much tastier, good quality, price is very good considering the quality of the food. Before ordering any salads or prepared foods, I would check the price as many are not posted. But overall, I will say that Angelina's has redeemed itself and is now on my A list for Itakian takeout. It might have just been an off day or missing sine spices. But I must be fair and report that their food on repeat occasions has been very good and shoukd be rewarded with a very good review. I would recommend trying their food. I am upping my review to 4 stars. Thank you Angelina for hearing...
Read moreThe fact that this place is not on lists for NJ’s best deli’s is pretty baffling to me(I saw boagies hoagies on one list somewhere and that is NOT nearly as good as Angelina’s in any way, shape, or form). This deli is the best I have found in the entire area by a long shot. Their sandwiches are superb and Loaded with fresh cold cuts. Semolina Bread is always soft and fresh. Chicken cutlet is the best I have had. Their fresh Mozzarella is amazing. Prices are reasonable. Their sides and salads are all excellent. My go to sandwich is the chicken cutlet prosciutto fresh mozzarella with some balsamic glaze on semolina. Just go any chance you get-you will not be disappointed but note they are closed...
Read moreI came in earlier today and it was my first time at Angelina’s Deli, and it was such a great experience. I ordered for my husband, my friend, and myself, and we all got different sandwiches so we could try each other’s. Every single one was flavorful and absolutely delicious. We had the Giuseppe, the Little Nicky, and a turkey sub with bacon. The bacon was crispy and cooked perfectly, and the chicken cutlets were tender and full of flavor.
John took my order and he was friendly and welcoming. The whole experience made me feel like part of the family. I wish I had come here sooner, because it is clear Angelina’s has been a neighborhood gem for a long time. I cannot wait...
