July, 2025 The food is authentic and by far the best in Bergen county. The portions are excellent. The ambience is casual and updated. We tried Cau Cau, Ceviche de Mahi Mahi, Lomo saltado, arroz con mariscos (seafood rice), tallarín verde con pollo a la plancha (spaguetti with pesto sauce with grilled chicken) and all of it was delicious and well made. The pasta was cooked al dente and it was perfect. The prices are very reasonable. The menu is in Spanish...

First time ordered from La Chata in Hawthorne, read all good reviews…. I’m like let me try it!! Well I just have to say never, never again ordering from this place again!! $$ down the drain!! Chaufa with chicken just taste high sodium, lomo salteado was cook, reheat and serve…and to top it off it’s more onions and fried than supposedly lomo( hard dry meat) Definitely is a big NO for me...
