This little diner seems to be one of the hot spots in town. While a bit further of a drive from I-70 then other options, it is worth it and honestly only a few minutes more. Pulling up you get an old diner drive-in feel and you can dine-in or drive-thru. We were given a warm welcome and the staff was eager to answer any questions, plus give suggestions. You can tell that the left window is the main spot to order at the counter....then find your seat on red and metal chairs or red booths. On the brown tabletops you will find ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. It was super nice to have coloring books and crayons to help keep the littles entertained, with one of the staff making sure to point such out to us. The Mozzarella sticks were some of the best I have had in sometime, the burger patties - I believe - were hand-shaped, and the bacon for the BLT was nice and crispy. I so liked that the buns was toasted, but I would have preferred more tomatoes. The shakes were tasty, but two people would probably be fine sharing one....if they can agree on the flavor. This is one of those places we will remember for future passes through Hays.

OK, here's the facts. You must stop here if you are near Hays Kansas! We had hamburgers, malts, and a salt-free patty for our puppy. This is not our first time here, and won't be the last. If you are on I-70, call ahead about 15 minutes and make the drive down South on the main drag. Get away from the interstate and have "real food" cooked to perfection. I posted my pictures and they have a paper menu if you ask to take with you. You can mix any two milk shake flavors for $0.25, a quarter. I can't say enough good things. The awning is large and covers the entire car on hot days or in the rain. I love this place! Also, there is a great Starbucks on the way down there, hint hint. Check it out! PS , they are closed on Mondays so plan your trips accordingly.

If you have taste buds, then don’t eat here. You will be highly disappointed. The service was quick and friendly, but the food is terrible. Green bean and dumpling soup??? Should be called slop soup. The hamburgers are pre-made soy patties, that are gray when they bring them out. I’m pretty sure they boil the patties. We didn’t finish anything, hotdogs for the kids were dried out and took two bites of burger and thought I was going to throw up. Total waste of $57. I thought this place would be good, because it looks like a old diner. The best part of this meal was the mustard.

Nice local restaurant which offers a few unique and different food choices. It's important to support locally run places otherwise we would just be left with chain restaurants. The reason I took off 1 star is I always order a lot of food for a large family and when they give me the card receipt, it just shows the final total. There's no detail of what I ordered or what I was charged for each item. Did they get my order correct? Are the prices I was charged right? Did the person put on a tip? Who knows because all I get is the grand total they charged my card. Their website could also use some improvement as hard to read, prices appear off screen far to the right when using a phone to view, and no description or picture of any...
