Came here for brunch, ended up getting my food at lunch.
Looking through the reviews I don’t understand how more people aren’t talking about the unreasonable wait or service. It took about an hour to get our food and during that time we saw multiple people served before us, a family ask for a refund due to the wait, and generally service that seemed discombobulated.
When we first arrived and it was our turn to order we asked for a bit more time to review the menu. After a minute (at the most) we stepped forward to place our order but the same lady seemed to ignore us and we had to wait a few minutes for someone else to notice us. In Spanish this second lady asked the first if we had already placed our order to which the first responded that she waited but we were taking our time (guess she didn’t think we understood). After we had paid they told us it might take a bit longer due to a few parties that were there before us. What they didn’t warn us about was the number of ppl that would arrive after us and receive their food first, or that generally our party was not going to be prioritized - like when we asked twice for water but during that time multiple parties placed & received their complex drink orders.
This place has a lot going for it since it’s a local shop with a nice environment and food, but the service made the experience so bad I won’t be...
Read moreI went in for my first time to purchase a cafe de olla and chia pudding. I am not from the area and was stopping for something quick. i had asked for a cafe de olla with some oat milk and after a few sips, i couldnt get past the taste—something tasted off. so i went to get one without any milk, thinking that would remedy the issue—however, maybe i am used to a different type of service since i have been in the food industry for 15 yrs, but usually if a customer does not like their order, it gets replaced especially if it was barely consumed. but i had to purchase it again since i had asked for the oat milk. while irritated, i paid and left a tip, only to realize that it wasnt the milk it is just their coffee that has a odd flavor that i have never had in any cafe de olla that ive had here or mexico. it almost tasted like the sugar they use in their piloncillo is sugar free or something. i didnt go back and wont be going back since i dont live in this area. the ambience is wonderful and the food great. it is possible that today was an off day but i had to at least comment on the service i received and the taste that seemed off to me in their...
Read moreI am completely obsessed with Romo's Caffe and wish their was more stars to give them. First, the service is beyond any cafe I have been . They make you feel welcomed and you can see that they are dedicated employees who want to make their customers happy. Second, the food is absolutely delicious. At Romo's I can't limit myself to just one thing because if you don't go in to try their chia pudding or sandwiches then you are missing out. I always ask for the veggie sandwich, chia pudding, and the cafe de Oya. I honestly would go here every day if I could. Their coffe is great. Lastly, it is family friendly with toys appropriate for small children. Although I would be careful taking your small children to the second floor to prevent any accidents. I took my toddler and one year old and they loved the food and played with the toys they had. Love this place and grateful for the people...
