La Casita Restaurant — Restaurant in Hayward

Today 1/6 I came with my husband and we are regulars to this place so by know we know what’s up. I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN SUCH BAD SERVICE HERE but, today I was very upset. My server was an older lady in her 40s or 50s that I’ve never seen before (black hair) and we ordered our food and she greeted us with chips, salsa and beans.

We ordered more beans later as usual we do it and she sounded like she was bothered to serve us, then proceeded to state that there will be an extra charge for them. NEVER HAVE I EVER PAID FOR EXTRA. I told her that it was weird but anyways to not bring them in that case and yet she looked mad and still proceeded to bring them and after that she was too busy chit chatting and gossiping with the other blonde gal that when customers would come in she wouldn’t even care for them to assist. She never came back to see if we needed anything until I gave her a dirty look she came and we asked for a box to go and the check.

I would give five stars for taste, but what I don’t like is the difference in service that I received. For example the Latino family sitting next to me received very large portion sizes .. the food was literally hanging off their plates..and they were beautifully arranged plates that looked almost identical to the picture on their menus. However, when I received my plate it was mediocre and looked thrown together. And my drink was very sad looking.. I ordered the Cazuelita... it barely had any fruit and was filled with a lot of ice.. and a half of straw was floating on top of it when it was brought to me. Mind you the reason why I ordered it was because of the picture in the menu. It just seem like more effort could’ve been given to my order. I took pictures but can’t post them with this review. Very disappointed. This place use to be so good years ago. Now the place it's so crowded, they added tables on the center to serve more costumers but it was very uncomfortable. Place was also dirty. Food...horrible! My mom food was cold and the meat (chicken and steak( was overcooked, with no flavor at all. My fiance's fish was ok but also with no seasoning. My food was warm but nothing special like it used to be. Only good thing it's the service. Bravo for the nice waitress and the one waiter, they were nice, accommodating and very polite. But the food and the restaurant..just awful... Not coming back Paid 88 dollars for 3 meals, 3 drinks and 1 appetizers. This place is...
