Taqueria Familiar — Restaurant in Hayward

Review by the Taco Master (Over 200 Taquerias tested!)

I was sent here on a mission, to get some tacos from the previous business, Tacos Tres Gallos, a well-regarded place among taco lovers and the Mexican, Salvadoran, and Guatemalan community of Hayward. When I arrived, I saw the new sign, and figured the place was under new management.. Having said that, my experience was great! The people are really nice, Salvadoran, and Guatemalan, and bring a more southern Mexican flavor, and vibe to the tacos, the carnitas were especially, incredibly good, along with the Carne Asada, and Al Pastor, these tacos had that real street taco flavor, like they’ve been sitting in the air of DF, for a couple of minutes, and like someone’s mom works in the kitchen. (She does!) Altogether this is a great experience, and I look forward to coming back and trying more of their delicious food. And I don’t say that about every Taqueria I go to. In fact I don’t even review them in less I think the great. And this place makes great tacos. Check them out!

“Authentic Mexican Delight at Taqueria Familiar”

My partner and I stumbled upon Taqueria Familiar near Costco business center for a quick bite, and it turned out to be a hidden gem. Ample parking behind the business is a plus, just remember to park facing outward for a smoother exit. This family-run taqueria has a charming atmosphere, with kids playing while the lady manages the place and watches over her little ones.

The highlight, undoubtedly, is the food. The tacos are a must-try for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors. We enjoyed our visit so much that we’re eager to explore more items on their menu during future visits. Overall, a great experience that guarantees our return in the...

Oh. My. Goodness. DELICIOUSNESS!!! We stopped here for dinner tonight and so glad we did. We ordered a Sope, a Carnitas Burrito, Super Nachos, and Caldo de Cameron. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. This is a gem. You won't be disappointed!! The stars of our meal were the Sope and the Super Nachos, but truly, everybody was great.

Just as wonderful as the food was the staff! Everyone is super friendly and made us feel very welcome! The restaurant was clean and the service patient and attentive.
