El Taquito Restaurant Dos — Restaurant in Hayward

Wow ! What can I say ? What a wonderful dining experience is what I can say. El Taquito #2 in Hayward California has got to be one of the best Mexican American restaurants I've been to in my 53 years. As soon as I walked into the restaurant in the late afternoon there was plenty of seating and I was soon welcomed and helped in regards to being served. As I looked at the menu I was so pleased with the vast number of choices I had to choose from for my meal. I was in the mood for a giant Carnitas wet burrito and I was soon to find out that I would not be disappointed. That burrito had got to have been one of the best burritos that I had ever had. In addition, my food server was very kind and welcoming. Even the restaurant itself has a nice Mexican ambience with hispanic art and Mexican music played in the background. There is also a patio in front of the place should anyone choose to eat outside on a sunny day. I am very fortunate that such a great Mexican restaurant exists right here in my own neighborhood and you can surely bet that I will return very soon to try some of their other excellent looking dishes. I got three tacos here. Taco Al Pastor which had really good flavor but it was super messy with all the juices coming off it. The taco de Birria wasn’t that good. The lamb meat didn’t have much flavor and there was what I think part of bone or something hard in the meat which threw me off. I also ordered shrimp tacos but by mistake they gave me fish tacos. I brought them back to see if they can give me the shrimp ones I ordered and they had no problem switching them out for me. Also, when I was going to buy Jarritos soda they gave it to me free of charge. That’s some A+ customer service there which made this a 4 star review for me. Probably one of the best chicken soups I've ever had. Great flavor, rich broth, well-seasoned, and topped with avocado. Carnitas meat on their tacos is another winner, crispy and juicy. Carnitas taco also has avocado, winning! The crispy Dorado taco is good too. If you must have a crispy taco (blasphemy, lol 😄), this one is several notches above the typical. Staff is fairly attentive and welcoming. One star short of five only because the rest of the taqueria fare is good but not great, but admittedly my opinion is super subjective.
