Since I came here in California 6 years ago. I was dying to try and experience eating crabs in a restaurant . She'll Shock Seafood House is just a stone throw away from where I live. And everytime I pass by , I will tell myself, someday I will eat there. One lazy Saturday afternoon, my roommate Salena and I were driving along Hesperian Blvd and we passed by Shell Shock Seafood House, I was thinking out loud , like wishful thinking ...when my money be cleared I told Salena we will be eating crabs at Shell Shock. Then, with a stroke of impulse, she just made a U turn, and she suddenly blurted, "Why not, now?" And I replied, filled with excitement in my voice ...YES!!! The overall aura of the place is cool and relaxed. The interior design really depicted beach-life, sailing and Seafood. The aroma was very enticing making us hunger. We ordered the Combo 1 with Garlic butter Sauce. And we just chose mild for spiciness. Wait time is very short. However when we opened the plastic bag of goodies , we noticed that it was just the Seafoods ! We were missing these..... Includes: 2 corns, 2 potatos, 4 pcs sausages. It was quickly resolved.
COMBO#1 $67.95 Pick 3 from below:
Clams (1lb) Mussels (1lb) Crawfish (1lb) Fresh Crawfish + $4 per lb Shrimps (1lb) Shrimps w. No Head + $2 per lb Includes: 2 corns, 2 potatos, 4 pcs Sausages
It was so savory and yummy . I sauce alone can be a meal itself. LOL. We chose the right sauce. The meal can be shared by 2 to 4 people, so we had a lot of take home. I enjoyed the food more at home because we cooked rice, and it was...
Read moreWell it was my first time there and I thought the place was "Cute" the way they had it set up. Ok so the FOOD , can't remember with combo we ordered but, I picked dungeness crab, head off shrimp double portions of the shrimp. We went with the " house sauce" which for our taste buds was a MISTAKE! it's sweet not overly sweet but we weren't expecting that. I'm not a " sweet" seafood sauce type person but for $98 + tip we ate what we could. The sauce also was greasy and not flavorful( if that makes sense). We picked the hot option for the house sauce and, it was like hot oil. Now we could see the "flavor" in the bottom of the bag but when we tried to dip our shrimp in it we really didn't taste it because of the grease. Ok the last thing was it was literally the WHOLE crab including the part they call "deadmans fingers" and all the innards were cooked it was SO nasty looking. I was taught to clean that stuff and, throw it away. I was turned off by that 🤢. We had TONS of food left that we ultimately threw away, just a waste of money.
Conclusion will we go back? YES 😂( I guess I'm crazy). Now I will say we are going for the lemon pepper sauce and king or snow crab legs. When we go back I will...
Read moreOMG!!! This restaurant was so good and did not disappoint. I was beyond excited to eat here. I absolutely love seafood! I lived on the Gulf of Mexico in Biloxi, Mississippi for 6 years. One of The biggest event of the year was when crawfish season started. People will gather around to a large picnic table put black trash bags to cover it. Then put a hole in the bottom of a bag for your head then put the bag on to protect your clothes. Then the pot which usually would have (crawfish, crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob, sausage, and boiled eggs would be dumped in front of everyone on the table. This place took me back to that place. They had disposable table cloths to use as plates. They give us bibs and plastic gloves to put on so we could just dig in and not worry about anything else. Lol. I ordered clam chowder and fried oysters for starters and i was very impressed with both then I got crab legs with the option to get all three sauces that they offered. Which was lemon pepper, Cajun seasoning, and garlic. The food was so tasty and delicious. I was beyond happy when I left. I even had leftovers and bought some home. I would definitely recommend this place...
