Greetings to the black shirt gentleman who rudely yelled at me "GIVE US A MINUTE SIR!!" while I was just asking if the register was open so I could pay there (they have 7 and there's always only 1 open). Original review: Management should really either train/coach their employees or get rid of those who simply don't help the company / customer.
I spent around $50, I had $5 in coins and wanted to get rid of them, $2 were out of 5 cents coins, lady at the register said she could only accept $3 because "the weight of the coins... and because of 'reasons'"... meaning "I'm too lazy to count and I entitled to do whatever I want". Then went to get a burrito, asked for the special one with everything on it. I wanted also to get rid of the remaining $2 (10 cents coins at this point) and paying the rest by card... Lady who was preparing the burrito was dealing, at the same time, with another customer... Paid, got home, my "super special burrito" has no cheese and I paid for it hahaha... I now realize that the lady was not even paying attention to me. Young lady cashier at the food counter register was excellent though, 10/10 for her!
Anyways, I'm guilty, it was my fault, I'm the customer who kept coming back despite the poor customer service.
To potential Cardenas reply: don't. Does not make any difference, what would make a difference: please READ your customers reviews and make changes on your store, talk to your employees, in my case: I was not rude, I was no asking for something irrational, I was just buying at your...
Read moreOn 3/20/22 I went to Cardenas (20812 Hesperian Blvd, Hayward CA) to buy turkey breast ham. I asked the Deli Clerk lady for one pound of turkey breast ham. She said that they don’t have turkey breast ham. The turkey breast ham was just in front of me(inside of the deli refrigerator) I pointed to the ham and I told her that the turkey breast ham was there and she said that she couldn’t sell me the ham because she cleaned the food slicer. I asked what time does the store close and she answer “at 10:00 pm.” I looked at my watch and was 8:50 pm. I went to the front cashier and I requested to talk to the manager. The manager Leticia walked with us to the Deli department and asked the Deli clerk lady why she couldn’t sell us ham and she said: “because I cleaned the food slicer.” The manager said, “she cleaned the food slicer and we can’t sell you the turkey breast ham.” We asked if that is normal to not sell to customers the product even though they have the product? She answered, “yes, that is normal,” We told her that we will file a complaint. Leticia (the manager) laughing answered, “I don’t care, do whatever you want, this is not the first time that a customer files a complaint with my supervisor” she left us there and went to the corner to talk to the Deli Clerk lady and they were laughing. Read moreI have been going to Cárdenas for a long time and was very excited when they first opened. But slowly but surely, the place has been declining in all store aspects. My favorites have been great looking and greatly priced produce, their own brand of flour tortillas that are so good and flaky, their tamales which I do not love the idea that they are packaged 2 per plastic bag, what if u only want one of each flavor ? My main concern is the HEALTH HAZARD in the bakery section, and to me is concerning to find the tongs to select your bread are pretty much nowhere to be found ( even if you ask employees so people have decided to USE THEIR HANDS instead, touch the bread, move it around with no gloves or tongs, it is unsanitary, gross and terrible and I have witnessed it several times. Should we call the Health Dept. about unsanitary practices??? They never have enough registers open at peak times of the day and now you have to bag your own groceries as well. You can never find a person at customer service. The ready made food looks non appealing and the people working in that section even though they are doing their best to help you, give the impression that they lack training. You buy atole and because their register is not working u have to go to a register, stand in a long line just to do that. Where are the managers, who takes care of all problems ?
