When we first moved to the area we used to come here weekly before becoming vegetarian. The owner was very sweet and knew us pretty well. Due to health reasons, I could no longer be vegetarian and we went back to eating meat. We couldn’t wait to return to one of our favorite restaurants. Since then, this place seemed to change ownership. The moment we arrived the lady working there made it a point to make my husband and I feel very unwelcome. She rudely questioned my husband’s order asking if he even knew what he was ordering. Our orders arrived and she messed up my order. I kindly pointed it out and she started yelling and insisted that I ordered that. Everyone in the restaurant was staring at her ignorance. I guess no one taught her how to properly communicate. I let it go, but that’s just me. As we were eating we found a ROACH in the kimchi. This was too much and we decided to leave. My husband pointed it out and they still brought the check to us even though we did not eat our food. The lady working there seemed unbothered and she started yelling at us again telling us to take our food to go. I get it, this is Hayward and a lot of people here think that being loud is cute but we don’t deal with ignorant people like this. We stay quiet, go home, file a chargeback, and call it a day. We...

We came as a group of eight and waited almost two hours for a table because I had a good experience here before, so we were willing to be patient.
Since the restaurant was busy, we didn’t want to hold up the server while deciding on our order. Instead, we initially ordered five dishes and let the server know we would order more after looking at the menu. However, a different lady came out with a rude attitude and questioned why we had only ordered four dishes for such a large group. I explained the situation, but she ignored me, insisting we had only ordered four and needed to order more. When she finally realized we had actually ordered five, she just walked away without an apology.
When the food arrived, she slammed the dishes onto the table each time. She even took away the sauce bottle we were using and removed our side dishes while we were still eating.
This was an extremely unprofessional and discriminatory experience. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The food was okay, but definitely not...
Read moreWas craving some Korean food the other day so decided to get some takeout from Sister House. I got the BBQ Short Ribs, Spicy Pork Belly, Kimchi Pancake and naengmyeon. First of all the food is so delicious. I loved the smoky and spicy aroma of the pork belly, which paired fabulously with the sweet tender bite of ribs. I was really happy too with the banchan and rice that came with the entrees and I tossed the kimchi pancake on my cast iron so I could get a really crispy bite on the bottom. The sauce that comes with the pancake too is so savory and delicious! The naengmyeon was also delicious, a bit different from the bibim style naengmyeon I have usually had but still perfect for a warm day. One thing that is sad about not dining in is missing the experience of having this food served on sizzling plates and fresh and hot. As well, I did feel the portion size a bit small for the price of the short ribs, though it was delicious nonetheless. If you are craving Korean food, this is a really nice...
