Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Hazle Township

I love Chipotle. Never had a bad experience at one until we got one in Hazleton. I hesitated to write this because there are a few good people who work at this one. There's one guy who ALWAYS has a smile on his face, greets you as soon as you walk in and they never seem to be out of things when he's working (despite it being busy). The restaurant is clean and you actually feel like they want customers. There's another group (who was there today around 5:15 PM and I'm guessing most Wednesdays) who are terrible. The place looked filthy and unattended. There were 2 customers sitting at a table and I was the only one in line so it's not like there was a line out the door. It's not uncommon for them to tell you they're out of things. Several times it has been the kids build your own tacos, almost every time it's chips and tonight took the cake... She told me they were out of white rice as there was a person behind her making it. I asked when it would be ready and the guy who was making it said "now". Fine. Got the white rice. Then I asked for chips to go with the kids meal. "We're out of them"... As the person at the drive through is bagging them for her orders. I asked "what about those?" He says "those are for orders that are already paid for". Ok, so what about the ones on the shelves? You're telling me that there's a hundred chip orders all waiting to be picked up? Sorry but we'll get our Chipotle fix in Wilkes Barre. This happens more often than not at this location and I'm tired of spending money at a restaurant where they don't even seem like they...

Ordered the new"Garlic Guajillo Steak" & was HIGHLY disappointed with the parts of the steak that I could actually taste or consume. Asked for "just a little" of the spice & once I got my platter home & mixed all the ingredients the platter was WAYYYYY TOO SPICY like they put the regular amount of spice on.(I consistently get "just a little" spice at any Chipolte I order from). I also ordered "extra steak" as I usually do, but instead of spooning the extra steak into the platter separately I watched as the server gave me the regularly allotted spoon of meat given to others before me. The "Garlic Guajillo Steak" was mostly fatty, so not only was the food almost unbearably spicy, I felt like I was chewing rubber bc of how fatty the pieces of steak strips were; & then to top it all off the pieces of steak that I actually managed to get a taste of was not impressive to say the least! Garlic Guajillo Steak? Yeah right! The brown rice w/black beans: rice was kinda hard/a lil undercooked, steak was Fatty AH, lettuce Very wilted, & combined with the Overpriced Guacamole add in + spice resulted in a $22 dollar not fit for human consumption platter! The Only + was that was a clean location & the persons behind the counter were friendly & upbeat. I Would Not recommend it At All & tell folks they would get Wayyyy Better food at one of the food trucks downtown Hazelton with better quality & better tasting food for much cheaper $9-12 dollars range. So first and foremost I’m a chipotle feen. Needless to say I was overly hype for it to open so close to home. I ordered first day of opening. Chips were stale, they charge extra for guac and queso blanco, the avocado was almost whole and green and the queso blanco was not put on the order which was a $1.50 extra charge. Fast forward to today August 2nd. Ordered again for pick up, when I pulled up to the pick up window I was going to open the bag and check the girl assured me that she put the queso blanco so I believed her and left. I get back to my job, the queso blanco was there but there was no guac which is $2.70 extra charge. This time I tried calling the store to let them know because this would be the second time and idc it it’s only $1.00 I’m paying extra and not getting my orders correctly. Once again the chips were also stale. Come to find out the number on google is a genetic number then when they finally try to connect me to the store after ringing for a while it hangs up. I couldn’t go back because I’m working, I’m sure and aware they are super busy. But come on and I don’t mean to sound ignorant, how hard is it to put one to half a scoop of everything that is...
