This is, without a doubt, the most dysfunctional Panera Bread in the entire United States.
Our recent experience on August 3rd, 2025, confirmed this location's complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and food quality. This was not an isolated incident — this marks the second time my mother ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich only to receive it without any bacon whatsoever. That is unacceptable by any standard.
To make matters worse, she was forced to wait over 20 minutes for just three sandwiches — a wait time that is completely unreasonable given the minimal size and complexity of the order. When the food finally did arrive, all three sandwiches were overcooked and burned. Absolutely no excuse for that level of negligence.
Upon calling to voice her concerns, the staff member who answered the phone was unhelpful and clearly untrained. He could not locate the phone number associated with her Panera account and weakly suggested, “They should be able to find it next time you come in.” Not only was that response inadequate, it ignored the core issue: there will be no next time. This was the last straw, and she made that clear — to which the employee responded with a dismissive “Sorry to hear that” before abruptly ending the call, cutting her off entirely.
This same location also failed to provide a receipt — again. This is now the second time this has happened. Whether it’s negligence or intentional, failing to offer or provide a receipt is a legal and customer service failure.
We have canceled the transaction and will not be paying for the poor quality food or the even poorer service.
Panera continues to overcharge while delivering food that is increasingly subpar. I am now escalating this complaint to corporate, again, as I have had to in the past regarding this same location. It's clear this store has no internal accountability, and no interest in maintaining basic standards.
We will never return to this Panera Bread, or any Panera location, ever again. This brand has lost our trust —...
Read moreI absolutely love Panera bread but this last time going to this location was terrible. I've never had bad food from any Panera until this last time that's why I gave it two stars. My husband and I went through the drive thru for the first time. I got the you pick two as I always do with a half Ham and Swiss on white with everything and cup of broccoli cheddar soup. I got it to eat at home later and we live 30 minutes away. My husband made a comment about the girl working not doing any work but playing on her phone. I got my food and didn't think to check it's quality. Later that night I ate my soup and it was great as always! The sandwich on the other hand was inedible. I never complain about food I get out or at home but this was terrible. There was barely any meat on it and what was on it was clumped in one spot and nothing I asked for was on it. I don't get Panera much because it's expensive and I was devastated. I didn't follow up the next day because I didn't have the receipt. If and this is a big if I go back to THIS location I will definitely be double checking when I order and the actual food before I leave. I just never thought I would get a bad food item from ANY Panera. I hope you have a better...
Read moreI ordered take out through the drive through on Sunday 12/27/20- bowl of autumn squash soup and Mediterranean hummus sandwich. The worker did not put the lid on the soup properly and it leaked all over and through the bag onto my leather suv car seats. I had to throw the meal away and had an awful time cleaning the car seats. I sent a customer service response to Panera and no response. I'm not surprised. The management does not care there and is subpar compared to the Bloomsburg location.
My previous visit the lid to my iced tea was not on correctly. How hard is it to put on a lid properly?
I will not be patronizing the Hazleton store until something is done about their customer service and management issues. I'm done having my vehicle become messy because of...
