Big Daddy's Famous East Coast Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Hemet

(Total rip off and not worth the trip) These 5 star reviews must be coming from family and friends because this place isn't all that great. The cheesesteak was the most basic and bland sandwich I ever had and compares nothing to those you would find on the east coast. The fries taste as if they were warmed in a microwave and the cheese and chili that's used are the same you'd find at a gas station. The kind you'd get from a can. Not to mention, the food is terribly OVERPRICED and you get such small portions. You are better off spending the same amount of money at a Jersey Mike's and getting a bigger, tastier cheesesteak. A restuarant is supposed to give me something unique; something I've never tasted before that brings it's own individual flavors to the table. Unfortunately, I did not experience that here at all. The food is so embarrassingly bland that a drunk could literally make the same food at home and it would probably even taste better. I can't say that I could recommend this restaurant to anyone after my visit. Definitely not worth the time and money. You'll have better luck going to Subway. Improve your culinary skills and focus on making your food taste good and less on making money....

Terrible customer service!! I recently found this location coming from the East Coast I was ecstatic to find a Cheesesteak place that reminded me of home!! I have come to this restaurant quite often in the last few months and typically had a pretty pleasant experience. However, I did notice that when mentioned that the meat at times is overcooked, the bread is hard and the cheese is not melted the gentleman got offended. Last week I attempted to order my regular cheesesteak however, I mentioned that the day before I purchased the cheesesteak and the meat was overcooked and the cheese was not melted. The man that answered the phone proceeded to hang up on me. I thought we were disconnected unintentionally so I called back and ask did you make a mistake and hang up on me or was this intentional? The man on the other end responded that he had intentionally hung up on me. I can only think his reasoning for hanging up is because he did not like that I was requesting my sandwich be cooked to my liking. Tried to order a work lunch for myself & coworkers through DoorDash because these guys are so highly reviewed and I was excited to try out the cheesesteak sandwich. Yes, there were a lot of sandwiches, at least $150 worth. Waited an hour and a half, finally called asking if I could pick the order up myself since DoorDash was “looking for a driver”. Basically I got chewed out over the phone and told they canceled the order “we won’t make that many sandwiches because we don’t make money like that”. I guess they tried calling once while I was working, but didn’t leave a message or anything letting me know what the deal was, they just got angry with me when I called asking if I could personally pick the order up. The takeaway I’m getting from reviews and my own experience now is that the food is probably good, but they pick and choose what customers they want to take care of. I’m super disappointed, and so were my coworkers when I told them there was no lunch. Wish I had better things to say, but getting chewed out and left hungry...
