My family and I came here after doing Santa pictures at the Galleria mall. Instead of eating at the mall itself we wanted to try something new and my dad found this gem. We were a party of 8 that called ahead just in case. (They were very poliete on the phone) The servers got our table together once we got there and we were seated rather quickly. We had our server Tony who setted us up with our food and ryligh (I hope I spelled that right) got our drinks. Everybody was attentive to us while we waited. Checking on refills and always asking us if we needed anything. My dad and his girlfriend got some soups (the chili and the navy bean) i tasted my dads and it was very good considering I am not a soup person. The main course was amazing, (I had the chicken club sandwhich fried with no onions or pickles with fries) I am normally never able to finish my fries and sandwich but here I was able to. Even the ranch that I recieved was amazing. (Not thick but not runny) We did not partake in dessert but you could see the cakes on display under individual glass cake stands. Those cakes were flying off those stands. Being taken to the back to be sliced. Very small town feeling atmosphere. Its usally a hit or miss with some of these places but this was definetly a hit. Will most likely come back here for date night with the boyfriend ( he is allergic to specific oils and they fry their food in vegetable oil which he can eat) We had so much fun and they did give my dad his military discount when he asked. They do close at 7pm but offer their dinner entrees after 11 am. Next time I want to try there Salmom...
Read moreDon't let the generic exterior fool you! We stumbled upon this previously unknown gem when the long wait time for dinner at a nearby restaurant sent us searching for somewhere else to eat. Luckily, this place was located in the same parking lot.
The atmosphere, from the lace curtains to the unique serving plates, to the decorations on the wall, to the friendly and unpretentious service made us feel like we were visiting a close friend's home in a small country town. The menu is varied. Pancakes? Check. French toast? Check. Omelette? Check. Breakfast is available all day. Are you in the mood for some homemade soup, a fresh salad, or a "down home" meal like meatloaf or pot roast? You'll find it here. Not in the mood for "country cooking"? Then try the huevos rancheros or chile verde burrito. If dessert is your thing, try a piece of one of their homemade cakes or pies. There are a variety of kid's meals, and plenty of vegetarian choices; if vegan options are desired, just ask and they will do their best to accommodate (veggie plate, etc.).
The owners are a husband and wife team, who run the kitchen and dining room, respectively. The service is prompt and friendly. Check the hours, as this location is open for breakfast and lunch daily; dinner is currently offered 3 nights per week until 7pm.
This unassuming place is conveniently located on Boulder Highway in Henderson. There is plenty of parking and it is wheelchair accessible. We will definitely be back soon, and will be telling our friends, family, and anyone who will listen about Hometown...
Read moreWaited for 5 minutes at the counter for them to come up and tell me they're not doing takeout orders this morning. There was literally only four tables seatedit's not like it was a packed house and what full-service restaurant doesn't offer takeout.I stared at the waitress possibly manager and said okay what if I order my breakfast have you serve it to me take one bite and then ask for a to-go box. She stared at me with such an ignorant glazed overl that I couldn't even handle being around these inbred idiots at this restaurant anymore and just walked out.I very much hope that they give somebody a case of salmonella or botulism and end up being one of the high percentage of restaurants that fail and that the owner goes bankrupt And all the employees struggle to find gainful employment. there are plenty more options in Henderson for breakfast other than this laughable excuse for a properly run restaurant. I had never eaten there beforeand figured I would give it a shot but my wife having just been in a car accidentI didn't want to make her go sit down somewhere so just thought I would get it to go order Guess that's more work than these morons can handle. I'll just head over to the omelette house or the mad batter probably better food anyways judging by the way the restaurant looked and the cleanliness of it. Good day to you hometown eats Hope you all perish in the fiery...
