Hubby and I had spent the morning at the gym and then let our cheat day begin. It was Mother's Day and we'd already had loaded nachos for lunch. Then it was time for something sweet - donuts! This place is a little down the road from home and we'd never been. I'm so glad we finally went because it was awesome!! By the time we got there around 2p, they were already sold out of almost everything and only had about five different types of donuts left. According to the guy behind the counter, most everything was gone by 8a. I have to say I was pretty disappointed by the lack of options. We went with two sour cream bars, one with maple and one with butter icings, one cinnamon sugar and one white icing with rainbow sprinkles. Thank goodness, ALL of these ended up being absolutely awesome. The yeast donuts were little and so delightfully flavorful and sweet! But I think the other two were our favorites - hubby liked the butter and I liked the maple. We can't wait to go back early one morning and try more!!

It’s the best donut situation I’ve seen around these parts. I say that based on a few things. The first is quality per cost. It’s a classic offering I’ve seen in more prevalent donut markets but not to take away from the craftsmanship that this product has. It’s a well made donut. Second is the forced cash transaction. Let’s not bring anyone else into this. It’s me, six donuts, and ten dollars cash. Personal, tasty, and settled directly with the Friendly Donut House by way of Jerome Powell printed greenbacks. No usury is involved and I think if you need donuts with a plastic card and a middle man then you don’t deserve this. Third is the location. It’s next to a grocery store if you need real food too. You shouldn’t though. You should drive by that grocery store happy you spent $8.95 and tipped the remainder of your JPOWUSD $10 bill to a small business that provides a fresh product directly to your mouth.

Arguably Sin City’s eldest purveyor of Fried Dough Friendly Donut House remains a Henderson staple for good reason, opening hours as early as 4:00am daily finding shelves full of fried Dough paired to pleasant customer service. The sort of place built for Veterans to linger over Coffee, a strip-mall on South Boulder Highway playing host to regulars for decades, fans of classics will find lightly fried Yeast rings beneath Glaze while those who favor Cake can choose Vanilla or Chocolate with Sprinkles, Cinnamon Crumble or plain. Also offering Longjohns and Bismarcks, the later piped with Cream or Custard, Buttermilk Bars are textbook thanks to penetrant Sugar plus Icing in a variety of flavors while the Bear Claw and Apple Fritter are easily Sin City’s best and well-worth the drive, cost and calories thanks to the golden exterior and Cinnamon-spiced Fruit inside.

We're visiting Vegas for the week and like to find one good donut shop per trip. This is it 😃 Stellar Yelp reviews, Cash only sign and a mountain of pink boxes on the side counter. They checked all the boxes before we even looked at the donuts.

We went with a standard dozen and was happy to find another thing we look for in really good donuts shops: cake donuts topped with crushed peanuts. The chain stores usually stay away from them, for whatever reason. We mainly went with cake and they were near perfect with slightly crispy edges. When we got to #12, we got their raised/glazed and it was really good, as well. Standouts were the chocolate cake/frosting and vanilla cake/white frosting each topped with peanuts, their blueberry cake with minimal glaze (ideal), and a vanilla cake with bright red cherry frosting. They also had a vanilla cake/white frosting with coconut that was pretty good, but I wouldn't have complained if they had topped it with toasted coconut.

The young lady behind the counter was attentive and patient. We were heading back to Vegas from Hoover Dam and stayed at the store to have some of the donuts. It has standard/minimalist donut shop ambiance...
