Tucked into a Henderson strip mall where neon mint leaves glow against the Nevada night sky, Mint Indian Bistro has quietly become the curry king of these otherwise bland suburbs. With a jaw-dropping 4.9-star rating from 551 reviewers (who knew that many people in Henderson could agree on anything?), this modern Indian haven serves up authenticity with a side of charm.
Between the exposed brick walls and comfortable booths, you'll find an international crew of servers, including golden warm faces from Ecuador and Nepal, who seem genuinely thrilled to guide you through their culinary landscape. The lunch buffet (11 AM-3 PM) draws a crowd that knows their naan from their biryani, while the dinner service (resuming at 4 PM, or 5 PM on weekends) transforms the space into a cozy spot where the tandoori chicken arrives with just the right amount of char and showmanship.
Speaking of that tandoori chicken, it emerges from the kitchen looking like it just walked off a food photographer's Instagram, all vibrant reds and sizzling personality. The chicken tikka masala, their claim to fame, strikes that perfect balance between "oh-this-is-delicious" and "oh-dear-I-should-have-worn-stretchy-pants." For the carb-conscious or diabetes-mindful folks, there are plenty of protein-rich options, though the pillowy naan bread tends to seduce even the most committed low-carb crusaders.
Don't let the modern exterior fool you - while the neon signage might whisper "contemporary fusion," the kitchen speaks fluent tradition. The gulab jamun (those lovely syrup-soaked dessert spheres) could make a Delhi grandmother nod in approval. The prices land in the "moderate" zone, which in Henderson terms means you can treat the family without having to skip next month's mortgage payment.
Located just minutes from... well, wherever you probably are in Henderson (it's not that big, let's be honest), Mint occupies a sweet spot next to a sauna studio called DROP. Yes, you can literally detox and retox within steps of each other, now that's urban planning! They're open until 10 PM daily, but fair warning: the fire lane parking restrictions mean you might need to take a few laps around the lot during peak hours.
Between the online ordering system (for those "I-can't-people-today" moments) and the real-time wait updates on their website (for those who can), Mint Indian Bistro has mastered the art of making authentic Indian cuisine accessible to everyone - from spice novices to curry connoisseurs. Just remember: if you're planning to tackle the spicier dishes, the mango lassi isn't just a beverage, it's your tastebuds'...
Read moreFirst time in to mint Indian Bistro. We went in for the lunch buffet. We are locals and we eat out often. I don't know how many favorite places one can have, but this is definitely one of them for us!
We were greeted and sat by Anitha who ran the front of house. She was courteous, polite, efficient and really on top of the entire restaurant, orders, clearing plates, customer needs in an entirely full, every table loaded restaurant. Really a very good job by her taking care of customers and the restaurant.
Mint is a small, intimate place. Nevertheless, seats and tables are comfortable, noise level is average to a little above average when the restaurant is full. One sits and are generally looking at the buffet and the very busy kitchen behind it. The guys cooking and making rice and bringing out naan were hustling. We waited for nothing as Anitha and staff were quick to clear plates, bring additional naan, water, and check in with us periodically.
Food is fresh, authentic, nice looking, smells great and is incredibly flavorful. We were served delicious hot, fresh garlic naan that smelled and tasted just so wonderful. The buffet was surprisingly expansive with plenty for meat eaters and vegetarians as well. Apparently choices are switched out everyday. 4 or 5 chicken or goat or mutton offerings, 6 or 7 vegetarian or vegan offerings. I loved that some of the food had plenty of good spice heat to the food without overpowering the flavors. There is also a salad bar and desert area. Today gulab jamun was featured. There is a bar, and a selection of wine and beer available.
My only critical observation was that it was a little too warm inside. That was no doubt a function of the kitchen close at hand and a very full restaurant, full of people including quite a few native Southeast Asian customers. That alone is a good indication of the quality that is Mint...
Read moreOpened about 4 months, Mint Indian Bistro replaces Jinya in the Sun West Crossing strip mall that also houses Hiroba’s and Domino’s Pizza. The lunch buffet is $18.99, comparable to other Indian lunch buffets in the area. The ambience is chill and the decor is serene and pleasant with a touch of fun. Now we come to the food. The buffet variety was good with chicken kadai, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, mutton curry, two types of rice, 5 vegetable sides, one dessert and a condiments bar with interesting chutneys. Most of the dishes were solid with the only significant disappoint the chicken tikka masala which featured a less rich sauce than usual for the dish and small cubes of dry chicken breast. The garlic naan was also serviceable (I prefer a naan that’s more garlicky than buttery.) Generally speaking, the food is less rich, less spiced and more bland than authentic Indian cuisine but this might work to its advantage with customers that like Indian but have a milder or healthier palate. Overall, I prefer the other Indian buffets in the area but this is a personal preference. For some, Mint may just be what you are...
