Shoney's — Restaurant in Henderson

I almost gave them a 2 star but my complaint "might possibly be" just 1or 2 ill fated employees instead of management BUT I believe it must be the rule more than the exception: Ex: salad-the lettuce often looks brown & old & terrible, unappealing and not fresh! I've brought it to the salad bar servers attention AND I requested fresh lettuce. Sometimes they act like you're asking for gold instead of lettuce & act like the cost is coming out of their own pocket and they have a bad attitude (but some react normal & ok)-but MULTIPLE TIMES they would just LIGHTLY spread a THIN layer of fresh lettuce just on the very top of the tray AND they do not throw away the old! So if you aren't right there 1st to get the fresh you lucked out! And many seniors can't see lettuce is old. The salad bar price went UP but then we can't get fresh lettuce?! And usually the chicken is stale & old if u go at a off hour. But they will sometimes more readily replace the chicken with fresh ( yet while not discarding the old leathery chicken either). My kids and i drove from Evansville, IN to eat here. As we headed to the buffet for our first plate, my son suddenly got sick and wound up in the restroom with it all over his shirt and shoes. I cleaned him up the best I could and decided we should head home before having eaten anything.

Our server, the woman that sat us, and the manager were amazing in the way they handled it and treated us. We didn't get to eat except for the couple of cinnamon rolls and few pieces of bacon my other 2 kids already had on their plates, which staff boxed up so my other 2 could at least have that on the drive home. Staff showed care and concern for my son and did everything they could to help and even made my sick son a Sprite in a to-go cup and made my coffee to-go without me asking for it. Poor service. Asked 3 times for silverware and sugar for my coffee. Never got it. But 5 mins after I set down she gave me my ticket. Also, I witnessed a non English speaking Hispanic trying to get food. And he would point at what he wanted (Hand no where in or near food/hotcase), and the manager yelled at him and told him he was not aloud to point. So he took what he already had and sat down. He paid like everyone else for his and his childs meal. Let me add no one was wearing mask. So how did him pointing at what he wanted make a difference.
