Our “breakfast club” are regulars every other Sunday, and sadly the service and food has been going down hill for a while. This Sunday we show up and we’re barked at that it’s a 15 minute wait when we normally seat ourselves, and our normal table was open with our normal server - or so we thought. Our normal server was there, but didn’t serve us, the bartender served us and she was awful. She was trying to put tables together when we didn’t need them together so I stopped her and told her we’d do it because people need to get through. When taking our drinks, she was yelling until I said my drink order in a very low voice. She refused to take our food order with our drinks - it had been so long since we sat we knew what we wanted. If she wrote our drinks down she couldn’t read her writing because she couldn’t get water, coffee, tea, hot water to anyone correctly. HUGE bar glasses were used, not the normal table glasses. Our food orders were served separately and some not correct, so many of us were sitting around waiting. When mom and I got our food, mine was barely luke warm and hers was cold. I felt like it was a problem to even ask for it to be heated up. (don’t get me started on the Eggs Benny). Then the manager (supposedly) comes over to tell us “Hannah” complained about us, was crying even. She was complaining about us complaining about her not getting orders right… I thought he was coming over to hear our complaints and do something. He says that how I was talking to him was condescending. Excuse me? I couldn’t even tell you who our server was now because a man’s name was on my receipt. We didn’t call anyone names, didn’t throw anything at anyone, didn’t even raise our voices… we just complained about the service and food like normal customers would. Sadly, we were already looking up someplace different to go for these Sundays, so I told him we wouldn’t be back. He said good, we weren’t welcome back. Okay, we’ll give our big fat tips to Martin at IHOP where we go in between here, and who knows how to serve customers, serves all food warm and correctly at the same time, and knows how to handle ANY customer in a friendly manner no...
Read moreWent as a solo diner around 5pm on a Thursday, took around 7 minutes to be seated, got to my seat. I’m not a big drinker, nor am I a bartender, I asked for a fruity vodka drink whatever they recommend (as I always do) they have a full bar, no drink menu. He then said “there are no such thing as a fruity vodka drink” I said okay.. I’ll take whatever you recommend, he gave me a vodka & sprite, no worries. I drank my drink pretty fast, and ordered some food. When my food arrived I ordered another drink and drank it with my food, this time I did google fruity vodka drinks, and was listed with 10+ drinks I’ve had previously, again I just don’t remember names like that.. Was not checked in at all during this, I had to call someone over for a third drink (after I ate my food, and had a few waters) he said I was cut off.. For the record, I was sitting in the corner by myself, I had one AirPod in watching my podcast, I wasn’t talking, being loud, just sitting there peacefully. Never in my life have I ever been cut off (again, after TWO drinks which tasted nothing like alcohol) nor experienced such bad service in my life. I would never recommend anyone coming here, luckily we’re in an area I just walked down the street and went to a LOVELY Village Pub. Save your money & time, do...
Read more3 and a half to 4 stars. Wasn't quite sure what to pick.
I have been here three times now.
From what I have tried so far, it was all decent enough. [Gyro salad, ranch crispy chicken salad, turkey patty sandwich [with cheese, lettuce & tomato.].
The Gyro Salad was good, lots of beef pieces, filling. Standard salad.
The turkey patty was a bit dry, and the cheese - quite flavourless. [Not really a fault of the pub, I think. All the cheese I've had so far from anyplace has all been very bland cheese.] So, the sandwich was OK. I wouldn't recommend the turkey patty. For sauces, just ask what they have.
The Crispy Chicken salad was decent/okay. The chicken bits were nice, but the rest was overpowered by the dressing and not much avocado, but a very large portion size, so that was good.
I do recommend the salads. My partner got the one with grapes and chicken, which was really nice.
If you're just hungry and want a large feed, this is the place. Good value for money, cheap.
The atmosphere is a little bit dark, even during the daytime. If you're anaemic or get cold easily - bring a cardigan or...
