My family have been going to THIS China Buffet for more than 12 years because we appreciate and enjoy their food. While we spent most of our lives growing up in Hendersonville, we became regular customers. As a family of 14 members, soon to be 15, this is the most affordable and convenient Chinese restaurant!
Sure saves gas money and my parent's paycheck. My family regularly do take outs, so we don't have to bother other customers with our younger siblings running, crying, and fighting. We eat in from time to time. We usually have 4-6 packed to go boxes, more like crammed, which costs around $60-$70. It's a reasonable price for a big family, and it's paid by pound. My parents don't mind spending money there because they did their job: feeding us good quality Asian food. I mean with this current baby boomer generation I thought there'd be more good reviews. I always see customers in the booths.
Returning to China buffet not only brings smiles to their faces, but a satisfying appetite for our family. My family finds it funny when the cashier lady starts yelling orders as soon as she sees us enter China buffet because big families like ours call for larger quantities. My older sister and I imagine them saying, "THE HERD IS COMING IN!! EMPTY THE FRIDGE, PANTRY AND STORAGE CLOSET!! CLEAR THE AISLE!!" turns to family/smiles "Hello! Good evening! Welcome back to China Buffet! Glad to have you here this evening!" My sister and I just crack up everytime we go there. It's amazing to see the chefs bring out frying pans of food. Haha. Perks of having a huge family: fresh, piping food! We literally empty out trays of food; it only takes 4 or 5 scoops for 3 to 4 family members to finish 1 tray.
We always look forward to reading each other's fortune cookies at the end of the meal because it's fun to tease each other.
HOLY PETUNIAS!! You have to try the "egg drop soup!" Everyone in my family ABSOLUTELY LOVES the EGG DROP SOUP!! From my 2 year-old brother to my 58 year-old step dad. My high school brothers and elementary siblings fuss about who took the last drop even though they had 2 bowls of it. We love their Crabmeat Cheese Rangoon, vegetable chow mein noodles, egg rolls, hamburger stuffed mushrooms, fried chicken wings/drumsticks, (chicken, beef/shrimp) chop suey/Moo Shu, sheesh kabobs, seafood, vegetables, and soups. Yeah my family has quite an appetite if you hadn't realize yet/not much of us are picky eaters. China Buffet is a small restaurant, but they sure can...
Read moreThis restaurant was a haven when I first moved to Hendersonville; I could always count on the China Buffet. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that restaurant is a little dark, but honestly, who cares. In another way it creates a little ambience. They also do not give you chopsticks automatically, which is something I am used to. That might have to do with where I used to live in southern NY. That’s kind of new for me and buffets, having to ask for such things. In fact my experience with all quickie Chinese restaurants in this area has been the same: no chopsticks unless you ask. This a pretty personal reason to reduce the score from 5 to 4. I hope they have a good laugh! I really like the staff; they remember who you are. Another reason that I only gave them a 4 is that they do not deliver. They should use Door Dash. Personally speaking, I feel the negative reviews are too harsh. This particular restaurant has a wide variety of diners. So what if they have diner food for the kids? The fact that they even offer...
Read moreMy wife posted earlier, I figured I should chime in. I have spent the last hour or so hunched over the toilet throwing up everything inside of me. I have eaten at a lot of Chinese buffets and dined late at night, and never before has this happened. Mind you, I have had food poisoning before, but at least the times before were eating something I actually enjoyed. I am more disappointed in the quality of food then the fact that they gave me food poisoning (to be honest it tastes better coming back up then it did going down.) the food was cold, hard, and cooked to the pan. The desserts tasted the same as the napkin. I didn’t even trust the white rice, which was still in the rice cooker. I am disappointed that I had to pay 22.46 for sh*tty food, as well as an added bonus of food poisoning. AVOID THIS “RESTAURANT”...
