ALDI — Local services in Hendersonville

We couldn't live without Aldi's! Their fruits and vegies are unbelievably cheap. Their dairy products, most of which come from the Midwest, are very rich and good as well as cheap. German chocolates are great. Hamburger & hotdog rolls under a dollar and GOOD. English muffins my hubby prefers to that name brand are a dollar. Eggs are much fresher than at other supermarkets, their yolks stand right up. They carry the best chicken and dumplings in a can. And it is downright hard to spend more than $25 unless you buy their yummy meats. Oh, and at holidays they have wonderful cookies. Yes, you have to bring bags and pack your own groceries at their handy counter, and put a quarter into the cart (you get it back when you return the cart, or better, give the cart to someone and get a smile instead), but it never takes long...

I love shopping at Aldi, mainly for the prices. Produce prices especially, but also everything else they carry - cereal, a good cheese selection, German chocolate

I have one complaint, hence the 3 stars. The bathroom. The women's bathroom is the worst bathroom in any supermarket I've been to in years. It's very cramped, 2 of 3 stall doors don't lock properly and my biggest problem -No Paper Towels to dry your hands after washing. Just that gross & loud air dryer that blows bacteria. Especially now, since everyone is concerned about keeping surfaces clean and sanitized. So you have to open the door with your elbow if you don't want to touch the bathroom doorknob with your hands. It's gross.

Otherwise, Aldi is a really good place to buy good quality food if you are on a budget. Just make sure you peed before...

As far as Aldi stores go, the Hendersonville location gets a steady 3 out of 5 stars in my book. It's just a typical Aldi's but the shelves are very often picked clean which makes for meager amounts to choose from. The quality of their goods is what saves them from a lower than average rating, everything I've ever bought from the Hendersonville Aldi's has been fresh and tasted decent. If you can, try to avoid this store in the morning or afternoon hours. Opt instead to do your shopping here when applicable, after 7. Otherwise you will fight hordes of other shoppers just to get to the items on your list. The employees here are always professional and helpful and that's also a huge plus.
