We decided to take my son to Denny’s for his birthday, as he wanted pancakes and sausage. We got there and it wasn’t busy at all, but we waited ten minutes for someone to acknowledge us and take us to a table. Which wasn’t a huge deal, and we didn’t pay it any mind. We got to our table and it took our waitress about five minutes to bring our drinks. Again, not a huge deal. We’re patient people. My son dropped a straw wrapper and when I bent over to pick it up, this is what I saw on the floor (nothing pictured was from us). The floor looked like it had not been swept in days. That was the first thing that went sideways. The server took our order, and I confirmed three times what toppings I wanted on my burger (keep in mind). About 40-50 minutes later, we finally got out food. Just to reiterate, it wasn’t busy at this point. Come to find out they only had one cook today, so I get it I guess. Our food comes out cold. My burger is missing every single topping I asked for. I told her what was missing, and she comes back about 7-8 minutes later with one out of the four toppings I was missing. She goes back, then brings them to me and I put them all on myself. Which, I’m paying for someone to make it, so I’m not sure why I was responsible for assembling my own burger? The burger was ice cold at this point but after nearly an hour there, I was so hungry I just ate it. I then went to eat some fries, and there was a hair in my fries. I moved to the side of the bowl for the picture. I had to ask someone who wasn’t my server for a refill after waiting 15 minutes for my server to notice. All of these things were mentioned to the management, and she didn’t seem bothered in the slightest. She took my $3.99 burger off, but then up charged the hairy fries. The fries were supposed to be .99 for a side on a meal (that my husband ordered) but she was trying to charge me nearly $4. When really they should’ve been taken off considering there was a hair in them. I waited 10 minutes for someone to check me out at the kiosk and at this point my husband had already taken my kids to the car. I do NOT...
Read moreWe hadn't eaten at Denny's in awhile so we thought we'd eat here after church. The parking lot was packed, but I let my husband off at the door while I went to find a place to park. When I got inside, several minutes later, he was still waiting in line to put his name on the waiting list. No time was given as to how long we'd have to wait. We were seated 20 minutes later & the waitress came by to get our orders. She brought our water shortly after, but had not brought us any lemons, which we had both asked for. We had both decided what we were going to order, but she she had left as soon as she brought the waters and we didn't see her for another 15 minutes. Granted, they were super busy! I only saw 1 busboy and he was keeping the tables cleaned off as soon as they were empty. I also only saw one man in the kitchen cooking. There were about 6 servers, male and female, and they were busting a move. Finally ordered our food at 12:40. My husband ordered a senior special (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, & pancakes, an easy prep order) & I ordered a bourbon chicken skillet (grilled chicken breasts with mushrooms, onions, peppers, broccoli, & potatoes.) Our food was brought to our table at 1:25. 45 minutes after we ordered it!! No indication or apology as to why our meals took so long to get to us. At the table next to us was a party of 4. Two of them got their meals 20 minutes before the other two. I thought restaurants usually tried to bring all the meals for everyone seated at the same table at the same time. The first two people had already finished eating when their friends received theirs. Our food was good, once we got it, but the time spent there was ridiculous. It took another 15 minutes to get a box for leftovers and our ticket to pay our bill. Then came the 15 minute wait to pay. I doubt we'll be visiting again anytime soon ☹️. When we got home, our next door neighbors were out and commented that they had stopped by Denny's but were told it would be an hour before they'd get their food. (Wish someone had told us!) So they left and went...
Read moreAfter getting in the door with my small children and getting them situated, I steped forward to the booth where I quietly and patiently waited while the manager whom was having a conversation with an employee who appeared to be leaving for the day. Seeing me step forward, she seemed to take exception that I had stepped up to the booth while she was chit chatting. How dare I! She then very rudley and very slowly using all her cognitive ability told me that I would have to wait in the most condescending tone she could muster. Within seconds the host appeared and seated us, where the real fun began. After being seated we were delighted to hear our sever recommend to another table in her section to call the police about some perception about a misjustice that had occurred to them in the restaurant. Apon greating us, she informed us that the other server was canceling items for children from her orders. She then elaborated on about several different reasons she, if put in our shoes, wouldn't dine at this fine upstanding establishment. After being unable to dissuade us into leaving, she took our order and began to tell us how fowl an individual the other server was in depth. She was back shortly but only to tell use that they're missing ingredients for a few of the items we had ordered and that how would need a manager and that they had no clean cups and inform us of the incompetence of the other employees. We were next entitled and privileged to hear the server do that same song and dance about the wretched other server and the substandard service that this Dennys was going to offer to the next group that was seated adjacent to us. But I digress while this visit to Dennys was memorable. I did not enjoy being part of the infighting between the servers, and while I witnessed the other server also contribute to the festivities barking at other employees. I tend to enjoy a peaceful environment when I eat with my family, the food was good but I wasnt able to enjoy it with the high-school ...
