I ate here for lunch on 10-8 and had a difficult experience with the lady working the register.
My daughter and I are very allergic to eggs and the reason I had stopped by was my daughter had ordered pulled chicken there, even though it isn't on the menu, and I saw what she brought home and it looked really good.
I walked up to the counter and asked if I could have a platter with "just pulled chicken" and my preferred sides, since it wasn't on the menu, and she said it wasn't a problem, rang me up. I tipped 20% and the total for just my meal (5 oz chicken two small 4 oz sides) was just over $22 with a drink.
When she brought the food to my table the pulled chicken was drenched in a white, mayo based sauce. I informed her that I was allergic to eggs and just wanted pulled chicken in a platter like I ordered. I didn't inform her of my egg allergy before but I had ordered 'just pulled chicken' as in nothing else but pulled chicken.
This was not acceptable to the woman working there. She told me I need to tell her next time if I didn't want white sauce and I responded that I would. Obviously, I didn't order something I couldn't eat in good faith. I simply wanted pulled chicken and veggies as I ordered.
When she brought my food without white sauce, just pulled chicken as I originally ordered, she hassled me about it again. Doubling down on how I really needed to let her know next time, stress and agitation in her expression and tone. I got a little upset at this point, because I felt like she was being petty and rude to me. I also didn't feel like it was my responsibility, since I ordered something off the menu, asking for JUST pulled chicken and veggies. I told her that pulled chicken wasn't on the menu and that I simply ordered pulled chicken, not pulled chicken and white sauce.
The diners behind me look with wide eyes as she stormed off for the second time. I simply shrugged, not knowing how to react.
She came back while I was eating, slapped a menu on the table which I never even looked at, as what I knew what I had ordered wasn't even on the menu, and pointed to the half-baked, bone-in chicken where it said red sauce and white sauce in brackets next to it. Once again, beside the point when I ordered "just pulled chicken."
I've never experienced a worker getting so upset with a customer for having an egg allergy and not getting the food they ordered. I will not be returning to this location ever again. It was the most rude and...
Read moreEasily the worst dining experience I’ve had in Hendersonville in the short year I’ve lived here and maybe in all of WNC in the 12 years I’ve lived in North Carolina, I mean it was bad. The owner/manager of this establishment was nowhere to be found as we waited for 40 minutes on our 2 dinner plates. He or she should know that this place is not adequately staffed (1 girl on register, 1 guy bar tending, and what looked like 1 guy cooking as there were no other personnel visible) and the staff they do have running this place gave some of the worst service I’ve ever encountered and as someone who has had 9+ years waiting tables, bar tending and expo I know how you handle people who are angry even though you are short staffed and can’t really help the wait time. I received no explanation or apology from the bartender who ran our food out and when I went to the bar to let him know I didn’t receive one of my sides (I waited 10 minutes and no sight of him) he promptly attended to the people who were paying for their meal rather than ask me, a customer who has hot food getting cold if he could be with me in a moment, he just ignored, so I was forced to follow him to a table and shout for his attention! Very disapointed with this encounter and I will not be back! I’d rather drive to asheville to the other location where no matter how busy they were we NEVER waited more than 15 min for our food....
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant that left me feeling underwhelmed. The main issue I encountered was the lack of variety in their menu. It felt like they focused solely on one dish, leaving little room for other options. The BBQ, while okay, didn't really stand out to me. One disappointment was the limited selection of sauces. I was hoping to try different regional flavors like Carolina, Texas, or Kansas, but unfortunately, none were available.
Another aspect that left me wanting more was the portion sizes. They were quite small, and considering the price, I expected more value for my money. However, I must admit that the cleanliness of the facility was impressive. The restaurant had a nice aesthetic, which added to the overall experience.
The staff, on the other hand, had mixed reviews. The male server was pleasant and helpful, providing good customer service. However, the blonde female server seemed cold and distant. She even complained about clearing our table, despite it being a task she had asked to do for us. This inconsistency in the staff's attitude was disappointing.
Overall, this restaurant didn't make it into our top five favorites. While it had some positive aspects like cleanliness and a pleasant male server, the lack of variety, small portion sizes, and mixed customer service experience left much...
