My experience was so unpleasant I can go on forever however I will try to make it as short as I can. Mainly about Gladys( waitress )and Paty(cashier)
It was just my husband, and our daughter(1yr9mon). . I asked for chips and salsa and Gladys asks for 2 or 4 ? I looked at my husband all confused Lol and I said for 2?? By the way $3.61 for some cracked chips I attached a copy of receipt so you see what I ordered. Anyways I paid and I saw the receipt and didn’t even get to the table and went back in line because I noticed they charged el agua mineral preparada the same as a michelada, so I was going to tell them if they might as well use a beer instead but there was someone ahead of me ordering. As I was waiting in line Gladys had the agua mineral preparada walking towards our table and I said oh I’m so sorry but thats the reason I am in line she said well it’s already made (with an attitude) and I said I understand but I’ve been in line and I hadn’t been able to talk to the cashier and the girl just rolled her eyes and went to the cashier and told her. Paty finally becomes available and says “yeah, they cost the same as a michelada” and I said okay I understand but as soon as I noticed I came right back to tell you if you might as well make it into a michelada but you were busy, you even saw me in line and she repeated with an attitude “well I told you already, she already made it” as if I don’t see lol but pretty much saying we can’t do anything about it. So I said it’s okay I’ll take it. The agua mineral was $3.63 and the mineral preparada was $10.32 the same as a michelada. Which makes no sense lol I’m mostly upset because they were both soo rude and showed literally no empathy. I was a waitress myself and I would never treat a client that way.
I know management does not care about customers if they did they wouldn’t have people like them working a CUSTOMER SERVICE position. I’ve noticed all the bad reviews they have on yelp regarding customer service. Food is good there don’t take me wrong, even though it’s pricey but not worth getting treated like that. I also don’t like how for example if a plate says $12 on the menu, on the receipt it will literally say $12.60ish so they’re already taxing everything individually and at the bottom they still tax the whole subtotal again, they might as well put the exact price on the menu.
Anyways when you go here don’t expect to have a good experience. But of course we don’t plan on going back...
Read moreRecently, my wife, our youngest son Andrew, and I found ourselves at Mazatlan Taqueria & Grill in Hercules, CA, after a visit to the nearby barbershop where Caleb was getting a haircut. Nestled in a cozy strip mall, the restaurant's compact size initially made it feel a bit crowded and lively, especially with the TV broadcasting a soccer match at a noticeable volume.
Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly and efficient staff. The ordering process was streamlined, thanks to a well-organized display showcasing some of their most appetizing dishes. The menu boasts a variety of options, including seafood selections and traditional favorites like enchiladas, tacos, and chile relleno.
Our food arrived promptly and was visually appealing. While the flavors were enjoyable, they didn't leave a lasting impression. Andrew and my wife seemed satisfied with their meals, but I felt the portion sizes were modest for the price, and the beverage options leaned heavily towards sodas and sugary drinks. Given my preference for healthier choices, this was a slight drawback.
Considering the limited seating and bustling atmosphere, opting for takeout might be a more comfortable choice for future visits. The surrounding area offers a variety of other dining options, so exploring nearby eateries could be worthwhile. However, if you're in the vicinity, perhaps after a visit to the barbershop, Mazatlan Taqueria & Grill is a convenient spot to grab a bite.
In summary, while the restaurant has its merits, such as friendly service and a diverse menu, the dining experience could be enhanced with more spacious seating and a broader selection of healthier beverages. I'd rate it at 3.5 stars, with a recommendation to consider takeout for a more...
Read moreI am absolutely outraged!!! Went in to order some food from what WAS our favorite Mexican restaurant, to walk right out and WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN!!! Went in, walked up to the register to order, and behind the woman at the register was 4 male workers with another woman in the middle of them. She looked straight at me, then turned to the man on her left...and while still looking at me, put her hand in front of her mouth to hide what she was saying and said something to the guy on her left...he then looked up at me and laughed. She repeated the same thing to the guy on her right, same laughing reaction from that guy. About that time the woman at the register asked "can I help you?" I just responded firmly "NEVER MIND!" and walked out! I'm sorry, but that is RUDE!!! Obviously they must not be hurting for business in order to lose a steady customer(s), plus the friends and neighbors I will certainly share my experience with. Yes, there are those who could say that I am being "too sensitive." Though what would happen if I ever said or did anything bigoted towards them? Which I would never do (my husband is African American). The whole Latino community would be up in arms! This was totally unprofessional! Wonder if anyone else experienced the same lack of professionalism and rude service I did?!? That is not how you keep steady customers! Sad to kinda go, they make the best steak fajitas nachos we ever had! The rest of their food, also delicious. Though good customer service is "KEY" and I will gladly pay more for it! Thanks for...
