This location is in desperate need of better management. They are no longer short staffed. In fact, several employees were just standing around with nothing to do while other employees were desperately trying to make food and get it out. Since I know that the lines can be long, I chose to place my order online. I showed up 40 minutes after placing the order and was told that it would still be a few minutes since they were out of meat. That's fine. I agreed to wait. 30 minutes later, I asked about my order again and was told that they didn't know how long it would be since delivery orders get priority. I asked to cancel my order and was told that they didn't know where the manager was, and that they didn't have a way to do that. My only option was to wait, so I sat down and continued to wait. Another half hour went by, so I checked again and they told me that they thought I had left so they gave my food to someone else. They then told me to go through the line and that they could give me a discount on my new order. At this point, it had been nearly 2 hours since I placed my order and they wanted me to go through the line and pay again?! I did end up going through the line, but when I got to the cashier, I showed proof that I had already paid and explained that I never received my order. She then just said, fine, and told me to go ahead and take the order. No real apologies were offered as I took the food and left. I was so flustered by that point that I didn't even realize until I got home that rather than giving me the full kids meal with the quesadilla, drink and rice, they had only given me the quesadilla. So, I just gave them 5 extra dollars after receiving the worst customer service I have ever received at a Cafe Rio. I like Cafe Rio and this location is so close to me that I would love to give them my business, but after what happened last night, I can't see myself...
Read moreOMG... What a mess! Disorganized, messy, could not manage to get my order after repeating it what seemed like 20 times kept trying to give me a burrito that wasn't mine. I had to check the screen at check out to make sure they charged me accurately and got everything I ordered. Which they hadn't and again this was after repeating what I had ordered 20 times. She asked me to check the register line items?? I did not ask. The young man who put the sides and toppings on could care less about his work. He slopped things together forgetting almost every thing I had said. The kitchen floor, counters, cooking surfaces were disgustingly dirty. There must have been at least a dozen people there BEHIND the counter alone. It seemed only 3 or 4 were doing their jobs in the whole place, of which 2 were cleaning the filthy dining room area 1 was an nice older gentleman making tortillas. I am an AVID Cafe Rio lover and had NEVER been to this location. I tell anyone who will listen to DON'T. I will not go to the Harriman Cafe Rio again. Bad service, slow, (I was 1 of maybe a dozen customers, there were MORE employees than customers!) sloppy prep of my food, messy work stations, EVERYTHING PRE COOKED ( no one cooking ANYTHING just 1 person slamming tins into the heat oven on of my dishes actually dropped to floor) food cold, mostly lazy staff, just everything in disarray and majorly disorganized, frankly, it was very sad. I've never witnessed so much apathy in a group of employees in my life! I know it's just dinner but it was THE WORST! I have been to many locations NOT only in Utah and ALL were much cleaner, more organized, everyone working together serving delicious looking, tasting, FRESH eats! Not here my friends. BTW they STILL got my order wrong after I checked the register against what I ordered. I still got that mysterious burrito¿? DO NOT EAT HERE. New...
Read moreI'm never quick to one-star anywhere, especially a fast food restaurant but this location is consistently terrible. Every single time I have ordered takeout here they have forgotten an item. Anything from a side, topping or an entire entrée. The food is always sloppily made and comparatively much lower quality than other locations. Dry tortillas, overcooked meat, cold food and much more. When dining in the crew has always been very rude, pushy, and on their phones while handling food. They have been ignorant to my requests whether I speak Spanish or English, often pushing food along without asking for toppings or if I'm ordering anything else. Also mixing up orders with other people in line every time. The dining area is the worst I've ever seen for Cafe Rio as well. Dirty tables, sticky floor and overflowing trashcans. Tonight I ordered pickup that was scheduled for 9:30. Got there at 9:35 and waited at the side counter for about 5 minutes until one of the crew goofing off in the back was bothered to come ask what I needed. Said I was there for my order, only for them to say... okay I'll go make it? Got my order 5 minutes later, which they just left on the counter without saying it was done. Had to walk up to the counter, reach back and spin the food around to see it was mine. Got home and they neglected to add the side tomatillo ranch for the 4th time in a row, the entrée sauce wasn't in the quesadilla and it only had a wad of unmelted cheese and cold steak in the middle. On top of all of this they somehow completely forgot to put cheese on our nachos? Basic customer service is absent at this location and from other reviews here it seems to be a common trend. Management clearly hasn't done anything to address it. Will be avoiding this location and letting everyone I know not to go here. Costa Vida down the road is...
