Cuban Guys Restaurants - Hialeah Gardens — Restaurant in Hialeah

A friend told me about this restaurant and said that the food was delicious. So, I decided to visit the Hialeah Gardens store today (1/24/24 @ about 4pm). The young lady working the register greeted me and was very pleasant. I ordered the "Pan con Bistec." The lady asked if I wanted the 4 oz or the 8oz. I replied that I wanted the 8oz sandwich. She rang up the bill, I paid, and gave a 20% tip. She took my name and said it would be a few minutes. I waited for a bit, and they called out my name. I went to the pickup location of the counter, and the same pleasant lady that took my order handed me my sandwich (bagged) and said "buen provecho" in Spanish. I then walked out to my car and departed.

Shortly thereafter, I got home and opened the bag, and noticed the packaging. The sandwich was nicely wrapped in paper and placed in tray and into a sleeve. I had never seen that packaging method and considered it unique and thought it was a nice way to present a sandwich.

The sandwich was nicely built, and it looked delicious. I grabbed 1/2 of the sandwish, took a bite of it, and was not impressed. "The sandwich looked delicious, had a unique presentation, but it was bland.......no seasoning what-so-ever." The sandwich had no taste at all, not even salt. Needless to say, I threw away 95% of the sandwich because it was not seasoned.

With all the other Cuban restaurants available in South Florida, I don't anticipate returning to this restaurant again.

Now my five stars for this food is after it even sitting in the bag with me going back to where I was parking for the night so it's five stars after sitting I can't imagine how crispy and tasty things must be when it's fresh if you're sitting outside eating.

I ordered large because well I want to have some leftovers and I certainly do The midnight sandwich delicious. Expertly seasoned all the meats were tender the cheese and the bread all excellent quality Loved it.

The Cuban hamburger I've never had anything quite like that. Kind of reminded me as if somebody took a very very tasty sloppy joe and made it into a hamburger and topped it with these amazingly crispy little tiny paper thin shoestring french fries. You could make a meal of just those.

The French fries even after sitting we're still very crispy and in the middle very thick and you can tell you're biting into real potato.

For the staff I came in everybody smiled and waved and I said bill for my order and they said yes I said thank you and they said thank you and I was out the door but everyone seemed pleasant and I think if I had eaten there I would have been treated very well.

Atmosphere it's a simple little sandwich shop but if you have the time and it's a nice day the dining area out front had a very nice breeze and it would have been wonderful to eat out there if I had time.

I visited Cuban Guys and I have to say, the food was really good! The flavors were delicious and the portions were generous. I especially enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich.

However, I did have one bad experience where I had a really bad stomachache after eating there. It was only once and I'm not sure what caused it, but I wanted to mention it. Additionally, I have noticed that sometimes the food can be a bit dry.

Despite these issues, I still believe that Cuban Guys is a great place overall. The restaurant has a fun and lively atmosphere, with friendly staff and great service. The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from, including traditional Cuban dishes and creative fusion items. The prices are also very reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of the food.

Overall, I would still recommend Cuban Guys to anyone looking for delicious Cuban food. While there have been some issues with dry food and one bad experience, I believe that these are rare occurrences and do not detract from the overall quality of the restaurant.
