Very dissatisfied with my experience at Hong Kong Cafe. We had a group order to be delivered to a local hospital, two of us paid with card, the other with cash. When they delivered our food we didn't receive a receipt, I wasn't told how much my order was, all of our containers were labeled wrong and they forgot to bring one of our orders. The secretary had to call back for her order. Later that night when I checked my bank account, I was charged $17 for a pint size (small) order of chicken and mixed vegetables and 1 egg role. When I called back the next day, I started out by asking how much a small order of chicken with mixed vegetables and 1 egg role was, just to check the pricing, she told me 7.95 and 1.50. I asked if they delivered and she said no, even though they had delivered our order to the hospital the previous night. I was told that I ordered two meals. I explained that another coworker paid for another coworker, the one that they had forgot to bring their food. Also, when the secretary had called back, she had actually gave them her card number, but they had mistakenly charged mine instead. The employee didn't resolve my issue and told me she would call me back, but she never did. I had to go back to work that night so I couldn't do anything about the situation that day. I went to the restaurant the next day, today actually and explained the situation to a different employee who apparently was told the situation but was being very rude to me. She had to call in the lady that made the mistake to fix the situation. When she was on the phone with her, she was saying things such as "that lady who complained about her food is here, I don't know what we're going to do about it since she already got the food", etc. I was made to feel like I was lying and trying to steal food from them, but I was just trying to make things right, it wasn't my fault they charged me for food I didn't order and charged my card even though a different card number was given when the secretary had to call for her forgotten order. Finally after waiting for the other employee to get there, I was charged 8.95 and 1.55, then I received $8 of the $17 back. It's not that I'm hurting for money or anything, it's just the principle of the whole thing. I will know better next time to not order from...

So the lady who runs this place is very odd. She always remarks on how much we order? That “nobody ever orders so much”…There was 3 of us. We each got an entree and shared an appetizer and a dessert. Seems reasonable enough to me? And why does it matter if you’re getting paid for the food? (Overcharged even at times as other reviews have pointed out) She remarks on how much we order almost like a polite complaint? Maybe it’s a foreign thing I don’t know. But I’ve been to Asian places before and nobody says anything about how much food we get. All I’m saying is; do that to someone sensitive about their weight and it’s gonna be a bad day. I’m skinny and it was mildly irritating to me. Additionally her employee had very little friendly demeanor to be found. Seemed very annoyed or confused by me simply asking for shrimp sauce? I really don’t expect for people to go over the top being nice to me,I get life is hard and work sucks but the vibe was just very uncomfortable and I don’t know why. Not like I did anything I can think of to provoke their demeanor apart from ordering, paying then asking for sauce? Pretty basic stuff… Anyway the food is pretty good for the price when charged correctly. I however will not be going back due to how awkward interacting with...

We went here looking for some good Chinese food, and ended up with flavorless food, and a high price for flavor. For us to eat it cost $52 so we expected at least decent food. However the dumpling taste and feel like mush. The rice is flavorless, and the chicken even worse. It’s hard, half cold and half hot, it’s like it’s been microwaved. The drinks had a bad after taste and after working in a kitchen, it’s because they aren’t changing the spouts to their drinks. There was no seasoning and we had to douse it in pepper. The only redeeming quality was the staff. They were funny, nice, and put forth effort to make sure we were comfortable. The restaurant has character is one way to put it. You can see where it was leaking from the roof. I don’t care about the look of a restaurant, but the quality of the food. Overall food awful, service great, and atmosphere was meh. Also to top it off, those bottles in the photos, we tried the sause, and it’s been bad for a while. Could seriously make...

The old building has character but is better on the outside than inside. The ceiling had leak marks and tbe vents were filthy. The booths were very old and decapitated. When I sat down the seat cushion was wonky so I adjusted myself and when I sat back down it felt like the bottom fell out. The staff was very pleasant and professional. I had high hopes after reading reviews but the food was only mediocre to us. Brought take out home for our kids and they didn't like it either. The egg roll was very different, and had a pungent taste, and didn't taste cabbage. The egg drop soup was okay, but a little on the bland side- just thick broth and egg, nothing else. The cream cheese wonton was good but stale. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty tasty. The fried rice however was quite different than anything I've had. It had no veggies and was yellow. The pork fried rice was terrible. Our first time there will be our last.
