Well we finally tried it after living in Mt. View for almost 2 years and I was genuinely excited. My hours were high. Upon entry the atmosphere was welcoming and perfect for a cozy little town like ours. So no complaints on that. We were seated promptly by a pleasant waitress and I can not describe my excitement when I saw the menu for the first time. They actually offer healthy choices that include an amazing "looking" granola bowl and an avocado and egg on toast along with a few other things! I inquire with our server on what's in the granola bowl and she didn't have a clue but she tried to give me answers. Ultimately I asked her to ask the chef. Better safe than sorry. She returns and we've found the description in the menu and she's confirmed it's chia PUDDING as the foundation with granola, mixed nuts and fruit in top. Great! I'll take it. Y'all.... I can't describe the sheet disappointment that washed over me when she placed this bowl in front of me. I so would have took a picture but I was already embarrassed enough knowing I was going to have to ask for a replacement. I hate doing that. However the woman I flagged down to communicate this to made the request bearable. She knew exactly what was wrong with it. It was SOUP! It actually tasted delicious but had way way to much coconut milk. In hindsight I wish I would have requested another made properly. I really wanted that to be good. Note to restaurant: if you can fix that granola bowl to be what it should be, I'd order it at least once or twice a week.
Other than that little mishap which they rectified quickly, the rest of the experience was decent. As much as I try to give positive reviews I also have to be honest and say, your weakest link is the lack of good service. It wasn't busy when we arrived and our server was struggling. There was only one other and she was handling her tables with ease and took care of my chia soup issue. I'm sure we will give it...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try a local restaurant for lunch in Mountain View, NC - Sunny Side. We had about a 10 minute wait to be seated. They were fairly busy when we arrived just before lunch time.
I ordered the club sandwich with fries 🥪🍟and my wife ordered the 3 egg 🥚🥚🥚🍳"build your own" omelette plate. Our food was brought out in a timely manner. My wife said her food was good and I have no complaints about mine either. My wife said their coffee was extremely tasty.
One can order breakfast foods 🥞🍳 any time of day here which is a plus I think. I've maybe tasted a little more flavorable clubs but like I said, no real complaints. I'd give my food a 4 out of 5 in taste. My wife said her food was delicious.
Restrooms were clean - but it is a "one seater" type so you have to wait your turn to go if they're busy! 🚽
Overall we were pleased with everything and I do recommend and we...
Read moreI've ordered a BEC on toast from here a few times a month since opening. First, the friendliness of the ladies answering the phone to take orders can definitely be improved. Second, I ask for it on wheat toast and I think I've gotten wheat 1 time out of 10. Lastly, today they charged $7.22. For one BEC on toast. Usually it's $5.25. When I asked about the price, she said "You added cheese." The last time I went it, I was chatting with one of the El Sarape guys about how business is going, and he said it was great but they were going to LOWER the prices because they're too high compared to everywhere else. Clearly, they aren't lowered. I love the owners and really wanted to support this business, but there's no way I can pay $7 for a breakfast sandwich. On the flavor: I do love the sandwich, but the shredded hash browns...
