This really applies to all Wendy's locations in Hickory Not sure if they all have the same owner but my last 5 trips through Wendy's have been anything but satisfactory. I'm a fan of their burgers, chili and Frostys. Unfortunately the Frostys have gotten so small I just come home and mix choc. and vanilla ice cream in my "Bullet blender" and voila..instant Frosty. The problem I have is consistently bad service at drive Thurs. They must hire kids as employees and managers because they do not care about customers. Last visit was at the one on Hwy 70 across from Roses. Placed order and 10 minutes later checked order before leaving window and nothing was right. Two teens at window and the guy teen was much more interested in the girl teen than my order. When they corrected it the burgers were half unwrapped, the bag was rolled up with something on it (your guess is as good as mine), and about 75% of fries in bottom of bag. Had asked for no mustard and, you guessed it, they just scraped it off. Very similar experiences on Fairgrove and the one on 70 across from Valley Hills. I truly like Wendy's food but won't be buying anymore in Hickory. I understand the hiring issues these days but come on, at least hire adult managers and have them actually manage something. Oh well, C'est la vie. It won't ruin my life but the owners may be losing a...
Read moreI’m just a honest truck driver my truck won’t wit they the drive thru so me and my co driver walk thru the front door as it had been wedged open. We walk up to the register and the lady at lunchtime says we are close for dine in (which is understandable) So I ask her can you take my order because my truck won’t fit in the drive thru. She says I have nobody that can take your order upfront only through the drive-thru (Insinuating that’s the only place I can order) ie walk around outside wait behind a car and stand there until I can order. To be fair I am only writing this because Google is asking me how was my visit do not let it be misconstrued this happens very often during this time of pandemic. I’m leaving at one star review because the lady could have took my order and brought it out. I might be A little bias by being a professional truck driver the backbone of America I would think it wouldn’t be a problem. And I they might have been people that walked to that franchise and wanted something to eat and was turned away because they didn’t have a car or etc. Because the dining room is closed. So that was my experience at this franchise in Lincolnton North Carolina...
Read moreThis used to be the best Wendy's in hickory. And some days during the day it's still good. But this is my third horrible experience at night. Each time we've visited recently at night. You pull up and get a recording at the speaker. After the recording asking if you are ordering from the app, we answer no and give our order. And then a human comes in and asks you to wait. Tonight we gave the whole order then they said we will help you in a few minutes. No customers anywhere inside store, at window, in line, anywhere. Waited 20 minutes till they came on and asked for our order. They were or at least one staff was in parking lot partying dancing with some girls. We left because we are done. The previous times we waited and put up with this type of poor lazy service. Only to get home and realize one of our meals was completely missing. Called back manager knew food was not there (forgot to ask us to wait on it). So one of us had nothing to eat. The first time our order was wrong. This time I had had enough we left and didn't order anything. They need a management change or to hire new staff. We won't be back at this store till their is a...
