1614 Drinks - Music - Billiards — Restaurant in High Point

My first time here since they renamed it 1614. Used to come here occasionally when it was Afterhours. It's the same exact place in case you're wondering, visually. I walked up to the bar with my boyfriend. He ordered us drinks and shots and while I was looking around the place the male bartender tried his best to hit on me in front of my boyfriend. Super unprofessional and honestly gross. He's lucky my boyfriend took it as being funny because of how pathetic he was at trying to flirt. It probably works better on all the underage HPU girls that were there last night. We were there for 45minutes when a group of 6 girls came out of the bathroom. The first time they had made an appearance since we got there. Obviously they had been "powdering" their noses. One of the girls was stumbling around with a drink in her hand and dropped a full drink that was filled to the top with ice. Now her cup, drink and ice and straw were all on the ground. She could care less. She didn't bat an eye or even walk away from it, just standing there with some of the spilt drink running down her legs and dripping off her feet and shoes. Gross and trashy behavior. What a great future alumni HPU, great job vetting her. I walked over to the big ginger bouncer to inform him of the potential lawsuit that was splattered on the floor. His response was "girls drop drinks on the floor here all the time. It'll be fine. Hahaha. Talk about the quality of the hiring going on in this place! I began to realize the name change meant new ownership and/or management and between the loser bartender and loser bouncer it was pretty evident. If ownership or management is reading this, flip through your camera footage from last night. You'll see everything I'm talking about. It's not easy owning a bar right now and you're on the fast track for being an "after thought" in the high point bar scene. Just some friendly advice and a cautionary tale for anybody looking to check this place out. Oh and one last thing, I did see one couple there that was obviously not from HPU. The man was def a middle aged local drug dealer with his strung out girlfriend/trick (who was strung out btw). He was there either trolling for business and or observing female prospects. Either way, major to catch a predator vibes from him. Snow...

I'm not from here and had looked up places to go to for an occasion. There was zero indication that I would be going into a frat party on a Saturday night, lol. All young college aged and some disrespectful ones as one shoved me into another one with zero apology, and I dont do drama. I really do not like writing reviews like this, it makes me uncomfortable or feel like a Karen or something. I also don't want anyone to go through what I did either though if reading reviews to decide where to spend your rare free time out at. The Dj or guest DJ was EDM only, or at least the hr or so of being there before taking my crew some place else that I'd previously looked up that turned out to be perfect. I was looking for the "clurb" and dancing to songs with words. I like me some EDM sometimes though ....at work, etc. There was zero dancing either, but maybe that happened after we left? I do not drink so yes, I was fully aware of my surroundings. There was no chance for the pool tables from those kids..... I'll not say anything further on that- just trust me. The staff was nice and the bartender made one of the best mocktails I've had. When we was getting ready to drive off there was two cars unloading more frat party aged people like circus clowns, lol. I mean they was literally getting out of their trunks! I hope they got home safe and I'm not denying rebel times either, lol- but yeah- frat party situation was my experience there on a Saturday night with zero indication of that was what it was going to be on social or reviews that I'd seen, and if your a college kid reading this, then good for you lol! - but don't wear mom jeans if you like to stand out and be...

Bartenders automatically add their own tip to your bill. A $48 bill (5 drinks) was almost $60 after the bartenders automatic tip added to my bill. Bartender also doesn’t fill drink all the way up either. Cups were only filled 3/4 of the way and if we asked to have a full drink, he charged us “extra shots” for each drink asked to fill all the way to the top. Also owner of bar (blonde hair older white lady) told my brother to leave 5 hours after being there because he had his motorcycle club jacket on and supposedly it was “offending lots of people”. Also, $12 cover charge at door. Never been to a bar that automatically adds their own tips...
